  1. My daily wearers:

SBDB001 - haven't seen this one worn around here, but nice to see other Spring Drives

SCVS013 - wife picked it up for me in a japanese dept. store for about $200. not bad, with sapphire, skeleton back and cordovan strap.

  2. x2 for gurando seiko.

Not that much...many models under $5k.

One of my favorites is the SBGM003 for $4048 at Seiya's site. Super clean & classic with a blued GMT hand. Automatic.

I've been wearing my SBDB001 for over three years. Accuracy is not what is used to be (was + 1/2 sec per month, now +1.75 sec/month), but still love it. Spring Drive movt is still hypnotic after all these years.

  3. I've had my Gibson L-2B for nearly 2 1/2 yrs and it seems to have become more pliable? Or it seems to drape a little better. Definitely not stiff at all anymore, if it was ever that way. Anyway, still love it...a timeless piece that will always stay with me.

Great jacket you've got, btw. And you're right...the original looks too bibendum for my taste.

hmm...I don't even see the L-2B on the BR site anymore. Or the HP site, where I bought it. Wonder what happened?

  4. Both versions, one on Supreme's site and the Amazon version, are listed at 304 pages. Whatever the alternate material is, it can't be that much different/more.

    Final price:

Amazon - $31.50 (no tax, free shipping)

    Supreme - $78 ($68 + $10 shipping)

eh, sticking with the Amazon version. Bottom line - more than double for a slipcase and questionable alternate content (obviously no one's been able to distinguish the version at this point).

  5. Next week, on the 20th,

*The Supreme edition of the book comes in a slip case & has alternate content.

A general release edition will be available April 27th at Amazon.com and select book stores.

    Amazon's price - $31.50

    Supreme's price - $50? + $10 shipping

Couldn't care less about the slip case, but the alternate content intrigues me.

  6. Yes, but a faggier version.\\\

3 out of the 5 google shopping results show the rw iron ranger at Neiman, Bergdorf, & Bloomingdales...at $270.

Current exchange on the visvims are over $831 without proxy/shipping.

  7. Last shit I bought was from Feb. '07. Everything still holding up very well. Shoes and pack.

Loose buttons aren't an issue. I doubt anyone is using next level thread to sew on buttons. And if they fall off, easy enough to sew back on. Not a quality of construction issue in my eyes.

Prices are still eye-opening compared to when I last bought in '07.

  8. I'm gonna hate myself...can't resist the latest 22L ballistic, red with chxl leather. Already have a 20L from Dec. '06 from Tokyo F.I.L.

Anyone have this? I'm seeing different colors for the leather bottom (brown or burgandy) & visvim patch (leather or red).

  9. got them off Amazon for $99 shipped.

good for you...slickdeals/headfi? anyway, i picked up 2 pair, $40 each. emailed amazon about the rebate ($50/pair) and said I wasn't eligible, but since only missed by 1 day, gave me $50 back per pair. finally, $10 more off by rejecting Wired subscription.

warmer than the grado sr80 that I normally use. better than the shure scl4 I picked up last year for a steal. er6i is collecting dust.

looking at the zune hd or sony x-series for a portable source upgrade.

  10. have you tried the included complys (memory foam, 2 pairs)? Those seem like the best fit for me. Otherwise, you can go to the comply website & order different sizes.

others have tried sony hybrids, which they say provide a much more secure fit.

where did you pick these up? hope you got a deal & didn't pay full retail for the triplefi 10vi.

  11. black on bracelet looks good....

go baller for a whole ~$28 more, and get it....reinvest unspent xmas funds into jawnz business. rinse & reap rewards.

i've bought from higuchi-san a couple of times, from multiple g's to $30 purchases. he's the preeminent, authorized Seiko, international selling vendor, especially for jdm (japan domestic model).

check out timezone, watchuseek, scwf forums...zero anxiety for higuchi (and seiya).

    fyi, higuchi's blog:

1st watch listed is my next grail. i'm partial to divers.

  12. schoo' me:

dizz got a Sinn 756 (I think it is?) black on bracelet, I am feeling it, but we gotta keep it different since we work together; something else Sinn that is decent? Can't make ends of the models, I like the thickness of the 756 Diapal, I like the 356 Acrylic for the look (but not excited about the durability factor, considering my lifestyle).... recommendations or alternatives? Not a 'beater' watch and not looking to get into watches, I just want a nice watch to wear most of the time.

dizz got the Sinn 756 Diapal? Or the 756? Either way, the 756 is one of my favorite Sinns, hands down. The dial is beautiful. No shame in getting another Sinn, although different model. You need one with 2nd time zone considering you crazy schedule. Diapal has it, or 756 with UTC.

How's Sinn viewed in Korea? My est. is that they're completely stealth.

Good luck picking out your 1st nicer watch. I went from Rolex, Omega, and finally to Seiko. Won't every switch out. But that 756 Diapal on Strap makes me vacillate.

  13. supreme online updated...for a sec. and then, poof.

got a gray box logo hoody, now the rug, shirts, hoody, et al, all gone.

site's even wilder than usual with the ephemeral listing.

at least received a confirmation for my order.

  14. think when you experience living on your own for the 1st time (aka no money --> starve), you gain a greater appreciation of all things edible.

for me, brussels sprouts & avocado

i'm an old(er) fucker, so now I'm finding myself turning away from anything too sweet or greasy. cookies & fried chicken are falling out of scope.

  15. I get more impressed with dis by the minute...batons, paillard, tournet - wtf? All with the mix of jawns too.

razor sliced potatoes in the shape of gills, perfectly arranged? how the fuck do they even stay on as nicely as pictured?

i know you explained (& thanks to kpnv), but I suspect theory & execution can be a mile divide for the untested.
