  1. Up for sale...they're just too small for me. I'm normally a 10.5/11 and these are a bit more narrow than i'm used to. A 10 could easily fit these as well.

Only worn a handful of times...maybe 8, 10? Suede is super soft and still quite clean...could be cleaned better but i'm too lazy and need to clear stuff out.

These were made upon request. Tan suede blucher with a boat sole/white rawhide laces. Here's your chance to get a unique pair faster than the normal wait time for Quoddy!

    PM me with any questions.

  2. yeah, patience is key...kirsten will eventually get back. sometimes it would be right away for me, other times a week or two. but as far as filling orders, i have had a pair of ring boots made as well as the bluchers i posted...both took exactly 4 weeks to get to me.

the ring boots were made long before the GQ write up, and the bluchers after...so who knows. i just chalk it up to being a small business.

i had also asked for the leather swatches seperately and those showed up randomly one day after i had totally forgotten about them, maybe a month later.

  3. on the russell moccasin tip, they are quite flexible with custom orders, that is for sure. but there are certainly things that wont work when it comes to putting certain soles on certain shoes. for the most part though they are pretty great...i have had a few conversations with them over the phone.

they are very slow to email, FYI...its best to just call and speak with bill, i believe. very "old fashioned" over there. i have inquired about multiple things off the sale list, and have requested pics in the past, as per their instructions...however after asking a couple times pics were never sent. so i think you might just have to be persistent.

i pulled these premier country oxfords off the sale list about a month ago and had christy wedge soles put on...took about 2 weeks and cost me an extra 50 bucks. i'm pretty happy with the results. i added the rawhide laces though, however, as they came with some black nylon-ish ones.

  4. ^correct, they do come in black and they are on the site, however they bison leather. i'm sure they would make a tracker boot for you in black chromexcel leather which would most likely be much cheaper but still great quality.

and if you want them to look more like the RG, go for the boat sole, not the camp sole (which will be flat with no heel, and black/dark brown-ish).

add a pair of white rawhide laces and you should be set it seems...i think you could perhaps even ask them for natural color stitching to match the laces.

as everyone has said on here for the most part, all their shoes are basically made to order, so its not a problem for them to come up with any combo you want...just have to wait a bit longer depending on the shoe.

you may even want to try and go the ankle boot route, black chromexcel, unlined (w/o wool), boat sole? might be sweet looking...not as high though.

i just had a custom pair of bluchers made though and it only took 4 weeks. should be here tomorrow.

  5. just thought i would up this thread to let folks in nyc know that i just had my 0500s brought in about 3/4" from the crotch to the hem, all the way down the inseam.

stanton tailor did a fantastic job of maintaining the integrity of the jeans by steering clear of the selvedge. also matched the thread of the inseam darn near perfectly. not bad i must say....i'm usually pretty nervous about taking jeans to tailors, as opposed to a place like HTC. however, the guy there totally understood what i wanted and why i initially had reservations about having them do it....so i thought about it and brought them back. said he would try to maintain the original inseam as best he could...and did.

i've taken things there before and had good luck as well...however this was my first experience with denim there.

  6. I never understood how reattaching the original hem could look good. I have never seen it (or have I), so maybe it is ok, but I picture a huge mess.

if its done properly it can be quite hard to tell the difference unless you look super close. i have had a pair done in the past at the old denim doctors in l.a. and it was fine.

my girlfriend has done it more than myself and they have all looked fine with a normal hem stich.

that said, if you're dealing with a chainstitch these days it much easier to just have it hemmed that way. i didn't use to have as much access to chainstitching in the past and re-attaching was a way to maintain the same stitch.

  7. ^i too had a pair of jeans fucked up by ramon. told them to just re-attach the original hem...i get them back and it was certainly re attached....with BLUE thread. i was pretty bummed because every non- denim item i have taken there has been fine.

luckily it was just a hem problem and i ended up just going to 45 rpm to fix it. something i should've just done in the first place.

  8. just soak that shit; you can't possibly want to walk around with dried sugar product on your pants.

after my experience with the 0500, im not so sure where it lies anymore.

i can certainly agree with that...as i have said before, mine really have no taper to them whatsoever and don't seem to be much different than 5000's, other than the denim of course.

  9. thank you sir^

i've been going back and forth on keeping these still. really love the denim and would rather let them go than see them sit on my shelf. just tough getting use to a tad bit fuller cut after wearing my sd 103's for a year and a half.
