  1. Yeah, I've heard some people mentioning the weight on the rim -- I'm not the type who likes to gram out a bike, so I was just wondering if the weight was really that SIGNIFICANTLY different. But I guess not!

That's a real bummer man, clean lookin' bike.

I plan to pick up some bullhorns or some riserbars soon. No shitting on the Deda drops but those things can turn my wrists to jelly when im not in the drop, but I just really dig the way they look!

Stock flipflop on the '06ers? That's really cool. Gotta run a crap lever in order to stop the damn bike unless your that crazy! Haha.

Did the toe clips work out for ya afterall? I can't find any metal toe clips locally. Kind of a hassle!

Good luck with the Pake, I've always loved white bikes and contrasting components.

  2. Holy hell, tough break man.

I regularly check this thread out and immediately went to the last page where you mentioned you were getting a Pake... I was thinkin' what?!? Bianchi for a Pake?!

Not to knock on Pake, but what went through my mind was that the Bianchi is a killer deal for the components you get!

Then I saw the smash up...

That's rough man. I hope your Pake works out well for you!

By the way, a lot of people complained about the weight on the Aerospoke, did you find the weight difference extremely notable?

  3. damn rip

at least he died doing what he loved....i guess it could be equal to like most of you shopping at bape and getting killed by a falling piece of ceiling or having a fatal heart attack at neiman marcus....

That has got to be two of the greatest analogies ever, hahahaha.

  4. $100 is a bit much.

I picked up some rigid skinners (that were not selvage) for $50 bucks at American Rag in L.A.

Rise was too low and i'll have to agree with the doing things to the junk that no man would appreciate...

Keep lookin for a lower price.

  5. I was under the impression that the APC NS were sanforized and therefore does need an initial soak. I remember reading that the APC NS would only shrink very, very minimally with a soak/wash.

Aside from the stretching that accumulates though, I don't think the NS will shrink.

Although, there are plenty of other people who have first hand experience and I'm sure will give you the right information.

    Anyone?

  6. Though you say Goodwill may not be the best option for you, perhaps there are other organizations that might be able to donate to poor areas or homeless teens...?

I'd say donate them some how.

I can't see you getting good prices for those jeans anyhow... and I don't think anyone could argue that you weren't doing a good thing.

  7. Mac all the way. Was a PC person.

Two of my housemates got a MacBookPro and they love em and another housemate has an intel iMac. And now that you can install windows on a Mac when you ABSOLUTELY have to have windows for whatever reason is even more of a reason to buy an intel mac. It's on its own partition so you can let windows fuck itself over and it shouldn't screw up your Mac OS. I personally think the Mac OS is stable... it has that UNIX base... and UNIX has been around since what? The 60's i think? Pretty robust if you ask me. For me it's always nice to be able to ssh into a linux box on campus from my apartment and do whatever I need to do.

I agree that the iMac is probably the best value though.

    But indeed they are expensive.

    Good luck.

  8. if your 31.5 and you get a 32, they'll fit the way they're supposed to - the classic anti-fit saggy ass kinda thing. i'm about 29.5-30 and i got the 30 and thats how they fit on me. in retrospect, i could of sized down to a 29 and i think i would of enjoyed the fit even more - everything a little tighter. depending if you get it one wash, everything will be shrunk down and you can wear it right out of the box, but if its raw, you gotta cold/hot soak whatever you want soak and get the shrinkage out of the way or else it'll be pretty big. regardless though, denim will always stretch.

  9. Sugarcane 47 bought raw in Jan.

1 Hot wash in washer, threw it in the dryer for a couple minutes, threw em on my body and let em dry.

1 Warm wash in washer early March, hang dry.

1 Warm wash in washer early April hang dry.

1 Warm wash in washer early May hang dry.

  10. Well, again this is only from my personal experience, and if your not comfortable throwing them in the wash because your concerned about size, then don't do it. The jeans are expensive and I'm sure the last thing you want is a pair of jeans that don't fit you properly.

Sorry, my last post was probably a little misleading but when I wore them fresh out of the box, the jeans weren't falling to the ground from being so large in the waist. I ordered a 30 and when I washed them, they shrank to a 30 waist. So no, if you wash them, post shrinkage will not be just about the same as they came fresh out of the box.

You should measure your waist because if you wash your jeans, they will (at least from my experience) shrink to a 31 size.

  11. well, speaking from my own personal experience, i ordered the size i normally wear (30) and when my pair arrived, the waist fit me pretty well, though everything else was just gigantic (inseam, ass, etc). i threw them in the wash and they shrunk drastically and the waist stayed just right if not shrank a bit.

not saying you should throw them in the wash or anything, but if you do give it a try, i suppose you can always have the comfort of knowing that waist sizes can stretch... a bit. just know the inseam will shrink a lot.

and if you do wash them, you'll barely notice any colorloss.

    so its on you.

  12. In fact, you really don't even have to be that "careful" with them. As soon as I got my pair, I threw them in the washing machine, under the HOT setting, with NO detergent. I let it run the cycle, I even threw them in the dryer for a couple minutes, got em outta there while they were still damp, threw them on, and they were as dark as ever. Just like everyone says, hardly ANY indigo lost. I couldn't even notice. I even wore them in the pouring rain, got soaked. All though, after I got soaked in the rain, the creases got a little lighter blue. But hey, throw em in the wash. They'll be nice.
