  1. I do a lot of thrift store shopping... It takes some practise, but you can really find some insane stuff. I've found Avia 850 hightop sneakers, $500 Alan McAfee's (at $5), several other vintage english made shoes, vintage a Lee shirt and jacket, lots of other vintage shirts and ties, vintage sweatshirts, a pair of Lee Cooper selvage jeans and a Colorado Blue selvage jacket.

Don't just go to one store... If you do that, you'll be disappointed. Find 4-6 stores and go there regularly. I go once a week, takes a couple of hours and I really enjoy it. Explore the stores... They'll often have misplaced some clothing, and store one kind of clothing (ie. jeans) in several places... When you start getting to know the stores, you'll know where to look. I know my stores really good, and I often dig up amazing stuff just hasn't been found by other shoppers.

It also helps to learn about vintage clothing and methods of production... This takes time, but look for:

Jeans: Selvage of course, capital E on Levi's, Union Made on Lee stuff...

Shoes: Made in England on dress shoes, try to learn the traditional english brands... I can't really give pointers on sneakers, but I'm really satisfied with my Avia's.

T-shirts and sweats: Made in [not developing country], combed cotton, learn what loopwheeler material feels like, reverse weave on Champion sweats.

In general it's a good idea to see where the item has been made, as that's a pretty good indicator of the age and quality of the item... Domestic is usually best and oldest.

You could go to a "high end" vintage store, sometimes it's worth a shot... There's one place in my city that has an amazing selection of vintage sweatshirts (Russell, Champion, Hanes...) that they sell really cheap. I kinda miss "the hunt" when I go to those places though.

Ebay is also pretty good, but only for obscure stuff... Buying selvage jeans and other mainstream vintage is usually too expensive.

    Good luck hunting!

  2. Ruff Sqwod??

    Please.

If you're paying 135 anything for a crap quality t shirt that looks like it was fingerpainted by a primary school kid, you need to rethink. That's serious.

And don't anyone start giving me all that back-in-the-day-it-was-all-shit-quality-so-it's-ultra-authentic lark, cos back in the day you bought all your rave clothes from Wembley market for a total of £5 on a saturday morning and you'd lost them before the sun came up on Sunday.

People wearing new rave shit have never been to a rave anyway.

  3. Cubase is weaker than flaccid penis in a jelly mold.

Crillztopher, let's start an art collective and make really meaningful art.

We can show at Rivington Arms if I suck the right dicks.

What? You have no idea... Are you part of the Fruity posse?

  4. Japanese trance and tech sounds like something that should be good, but it's always fail to me. Eurobeat and house-style J-pop is win...often times the line between eurobeat and happycore is small; "Darkmoon Fighter" by Dee Dee Wonder always comes to mind.

They often take it too far IMO (the japanese that is) but the label Phreex Networx has released some pretty good stuff... Especially the Phenix compilation is awesome.

The label that releases the illest shit at the moment is definately Parvati Records. http://www.parvati-records.com/... The Psy Stories 1-3 rock, especially the Psilo Cowboys track "Sneaky Vibes" on no. 2. I heard Derango, Dronebixie and Guiseppe (the founder of Parvati) play at a party last saturday, second to none...

Btw. it's Dronebixie playing in the first video I posted... IIRC.

  5. There's been a lot of hype around neo-rave and all that stuff lately, but "raves" have been going on for decades outside the mainstream. Is anyone into the whole psytrance scene?

The first video was taken by me and my friend at an illegal forest party in Denmark... Second is one of my favorite artists, Rinkadink, performing at a festival in 04.

  6. honeycombs prefaded are horrible, always...

and to the person who said skinny is already on its way out, it hasn't even caught on yet... atleast on my college campus, im pretty sure im the only guy who doesnt wear bootcut jeans, as well, im the only guy i ever see in skinny jeans, besides like one other kid in my 4 years here...

It might not have caught on in USA yet, I know nothing about that, but it's been done by everyone and their mother for the past 2 years here. It's dying slowly.

Also, I said that if he wanted to be AHEAD of other denim companies he shouldn't do it. If he wants to do the same shit as everyone else he should just go ahead and make skinny cuts.

  7. I wouldn't recommend a skinny cut if you won't to be ahead of other denim companies, they've been on their way out for some time. I'd say slim (NOT skin tight) straight cut. High or medium rise. Avoid loud washes, go for raw or some anonymous washes like Acne, who use more of an over all fade and less contrast.

cool! Didnt know that Resteröds had a traditional "collection" aswell. The long sleeve henley and and sweater both seems nice and are affordable.

They use organic cottons, and claim that the material is virtualy "indestructible". Cool with made in Sweden aswell.

Yeah, unfortunately there's not that much in Ã…rhus, I gotta visit their shop in Copenhagen some day.

  9. Cotton Duck

Mbrand, isnt that visvim more of an army cap?
