The movie was good.
For music, check out Piana. The album is called Ephemeral, it was influenced by Murakami''s novels.

I think what you are into is more like downtempo/Chill out. This type of music you usually hear in trendy boutiques, lounges, cafe, hotels, restaurants, ect.
I recommend some older stuffs
all the stuff that you into, you can find it in kid loco, dj cam. ect the lazy hip hop beats, orchestra, turntable scratches, jazzy piano, sampled voices/vocals.
Kid Loco: A grand Love Story
DJ CAM: Substances
Since you liked nujabes. Check out CYNE. They did a few vocals tracks on nujabes album.
Labels beside ninjatunes.
DJ KICKS series from !K7
Anticon. Alias/DJ mayonaise
Also, Diplo: Florida album is mostly instrumental hip hop.
Deltron 3030: Instrumental

I''ll probably check out the DnB list for nostalgic reasons. The last time I saw roni size/reprazent was in central park summer stage. I think that was about 4-5 years ago.
Anyone heard of The Teenagers? They''re pretty catchy. Their "album" is on oink. check it.

the twilight samurai, the hidden blade, and i think the director is working on the third film to complete the trilogy. I like the hidden blade a little bit more.
Samurai fiction was entertaining. Red Shadow was by the same director but it was about ninjas.
Gohatto (Taboo).
I think the criterion collection have a good selections of old samurai films. You may want to check out their website for more recommendations.

tony takitani is indeed a great movie. They did a good job in translating murakami story onto the screen.
Dolls by takeshi kitano. 3 short stories, pretty cinematography, customes by Yohji Yamamoto. Kind of a slow film but I enjoyed it.
SUZHOU RIVER by Lou Ye. It should be watched if you are a fan of early wong kar wai films. The movie was also being compared to Hitchcock''s Vertigo.
