Does he do a lot of Bruce work? He looks like a fan...

  2. I've worn these for boxing training, they're definitely less tall and intense looking as a lot of boxing boots, if that's what your're looking for. And decent quality.

Personally can't imagine wearing them casually. They're very slim/close to the foot; laced with pants they'll look a little too 2000s Puma speedcat

thinking about copping these to rock casually lol. thoughts?

also, if anyone knows of any similar style boxing-inspired sneakers, please feel free to share. thought about cp bball highs, but not sure if i like them as much as the actual thing.

  3. When Noah was around, the internet hadn't quite exploded the mysteriousness of brands like Noah with limited distribution, so it's definitely coasting some on its rep among people who never handled it (myself included). Plus its design sense of, I guess, semi-lux twists of relatively straightforward prep stuff became ultra commonplace in the years after it disappeared, so it doesn't seem special at all now. It's semi impossible to think of Steven Alan or Band of Outsiders as hip now, too.

But I'm still looking forward ot the relaunch. I know NdG stocked Noah and those guys were tight. NdG seems similar in a way:I don't today really want to buy/wear half of what NdG actually made, but I'd be interested to see what NdG would be doing now. Same w Noah/Babenzien.

Anyone have an opinion on the other Babenzien's sneaker brand, Greats? Have to admire the price restraint/value focus, esp when Buscemi is involved, but the designs seem a hair too generic/K-Mart-y.

  4. Probably not as bad as I am now... I haven't skated regularly in about 2 years now... But the past 2 weekends I've been skating... And I suck at it now. I mean, I can still do it, it's just super awkward. I'm gonna keep doing it tho... Because even sucking its fun.

I challenge you to a game of skate where the real losers are our knees

  5. ^For real. Bailed poorly on a boardslide yesterday and today I feel like I got hit by a car.

Coupla skateparks near me have nice bowl setups. I can't do much more than drop in and pump around, but it's interesting to see the mix of old dudes (40+) and younger skaters (young being ~20) who can really skate a bowl/pool. When did the bowl skating resurgence happen? I wanna do sweepers and frontside airs.

Growing up on the east coast in the 90s, we didn't have a lot of access to that sort of transition.
