  1. i like it, but i feel like the black lightning bolts are obscuring what should be the focal point. maybe move them/cut them off before they hit the drawing? i dunno... but i do like the style of the center piece and the swords are quite nice. i'd like to see what it looks like a bit bigger. it's good, nice and loose style without looking sloppy.

  2. psyence: speaking as a pretty devoted indie type guy (music, i mean), i've gotta say. most of the people in uo are NOT true indie folk at all. listening to the OC soundtrack once or buying the latest uo mix cd does not make you indie. These kids are just appropriating the style with no knowledge of where it came from. but i guess that's how it is with a lot of fashion. just don't like seeing it happen with the music i like.

ah, but i do agree with you: urban outfitters "indie" types are clones. as flame said, fuck you and your leggings (or fake band t)

  3. so, just to be clear: there's only one cut that they offer? is the difference on the website just a kind of sizing guide then, for going up or down a size?

also, can anyone tell me what size i should go for? i'm a 30 in slim jims, 31 in jr cali, 28 in new standard...about 6 ft. 170. Thanks!

  4. cult: i love the gap skinnies...i'm in new orleans so the lightweight denim is a relief, and the stretch makes it a whole lot easier to ride my bike. yeah, they're working out very well. i should thank you, actually, because it was your post about them awhile back that got me interested in them. i'll post pics tomorrow probably. have to find batteries for my camera.

  5. i cannot stand idly by and see arrows slung at tg!! (just kidding) but actually, even though i don't think tg would agree, i like the jeans and the fit. a little sag isn't necessarily a bad thing. and, as has been said, that steak looks sooo damn good.

oh, and today i wore gap skinny jeans, vans slips, and a black t-shirt to take an exam. fun.

  6. i don't think there's really any jeans i'd pay $1200 for, but that's me. the detailing on these is really nice, i'll give 'em that. fit vs details? well, it's a matter of taste a lot of the time but i'll always go for the fit.

as to jeans like 7's and joes, well, i can't say i'd really qualify them as jeans that have a great fit. apc has much better cuts than either of those brands and they're still cheaper with better denim. i think the problem people on this board have with those jeans is that the quality is lacking in construction and material, and the fit isn't particularly on either.

and i agree with poly on the issue of taste with something like nudies against repros. it's all taste as long as some quality is there...

  7. But I reallllllly despise how the whorority girls are sporting the look (that they developed over the summer) and have decided that they are so chic and in and now they have this attitude that is only reserved for hot indy chicks. This is the end of the world.

i agree completely! any guy with an appreciation for hot indie chicks now has to deal with (w)hordes of cheap greek imitations. it's not right. i'm glad there's someone else who feels this way.

  8. i will admit to rampant rubbernecking... to the point that now, when i'm out and i turn around to check out back pockets or stare at a passing guy or girl, my friends (NOT superdenim types to say the least) recognize exactly what i'm doing. it did take a lot of "hey, why are you checking out that guy's ass?" instances before we got to this point though.

i had a strange experience a little while ago when i noticed a guy in nudies and commented that we were wearing the same brand. i don't think he spoke very good english, because he looked at me like i had two heads. then again, maybe i just spooked him.
