I personally don't have the body type to pull off low rise, but I can see why people like them. My only request is that any dudes that do try the low rise not go commando. I'm going to start kicking kneecaps if I see any more hairy dudecrack sticking out of the top of jeans.

I had a pair of the premium bootcuts and I basically made them straight-legged from the knee down. The cut was fine, but if you have any honeycombing going on behind the knees, it will look a bit off until you wear them a bit more and reestablish them. If you do it from the inside seam (so as to preserve the selvedge) sometimes you can make the outside seam twist around to the front if you're not totally careful.

if you're not that confident in your seamstress (seemster?) skills, taylors don't charge that much to alter pants. Just be really specific about how and what you want done.
