  1. Greetings SF'ers

Summer sale's started at FP with plenty of Cheap Monday, Rag & Bone, Crate, Nudie, Obedient Sons, United Bamboo, Helmut Lang... ALL 30% OFF!

And in related news we've decided to shutter the brick and mortar FactoryPeople in order to concentrate focus on factorypeople.com & pop-up stores/events, both in Austin and other cities (hopefully your town).

If you've stopped by the shop and shot the breeze about denim/designers, or had a chance to come dancing when we've brought in MSTRKRFT, James Murphy, Optimo, Peaches et al. - thanks, we've had a blast! Keep dancing.

    love,

    FactoryPeople

Should this be moved to Super-Sales thread? Either way, I just bought a pair of shoes. dammit!

  2. Funny, I actually thought this was a thread about a stf 501 contest or something? :[

If we get enough contestants (1500+), perhaps we'll be able to get our own tabs and arcs (maybe a green tab that reads "Sufu hearts Levis").

But if we can't get a post-soak 36" inseam on these, consider me out.

  3. I saw them at Radio City -- a venue where you'd assume bands/artists bring their "A-game."

Some people don't mind when songs at a concert sound exactly like the studio versions, however, I am not one of those people. I like a little spontaneity, some stage presence, slight musical variations, witty banter, some acknowledgment of the venue/crowd, something making it worth the $50 ticket cost of a ticket. Otherwise, I'd rather just enjoy the music on an ipod.

However, my opinion is based upon one show, so its not entirely fair to say that they are not a good live band. They could have been nervous.

  4. 1. Wilco -- Yankee Hotel Foxtrot

    2. Miles Davis -- Tribute to Jack Johnson

    3. Neutral Milk Hotel -- In the Aeroplane Over the Sea

    4. Arcade Fire -- Funeral

    5. Johnny Cash -- Live at Folsom Prison

    Honorable mentions:

    6. Jerry Garcia and John Kahn -- 5/5/82 -- Oregon State Prison

    7. Velvet Underground -- Loaded

  5. I can't speak for the outer-burroughs, but for downtown, Thailand Restaurant (106 Bayard Street bet. Baxter and Mulberry) is pretty solid fare at very affordable prices. Also, if you are going to New York, it will give you and your twins a chance to check out the Chinatown area (if you havent done so already).

My personal favorite spot(s) for Thai are in Hell's Kitchen, called Wondee Siam and Wondee Siam 2. They do a fantastic job, great noodles, rices dishes and curries. I'd suggest W.S.2 for more ambience and space (as WS1 only has about 6 tables). Both are located on 9th Ave between 52nd and 56th. Not too far away from Time Square (if you are so inclined travel to that area).

    http://www.yelp.com has good reviews.
