  1. undercover, number nine don't exsist in bcn...there are tons of dope shops tho. check out the superfuture bcn page on the main site...and search the forum i have answered this question 5+ times. there is a really dope (kind of hidden) japanese store that stocks various designers on carrer lledó near the jaume 1 stop. for bars check out bar marselle, casa aguello, robadors 23, el pepiño (if you can find it ill be impressed). restuarants - agüt, el forno are excellent. for oddities walk the streets of barri gotico and el born

I like Science Club, and they play hip hop some nights, but it's not really danceable, top 40 stuff. I used to work in the Radio One building; I should know these things...

  3. your vision is irrely similiar to my own. add philip lim 3.1, N.D.C., a litl btr - rogan, dries van noten, and in house cut & sew tailor/designer, a jewelry section (lots of watches), add a secret/hidden (wine sellar - far sale of course) room with local and far away small designers...you know it should acutally be an apartment, always locked, no sign...frequent customers have a key (that only works during store hours). there would have to be a funcioning kitchen, appliances all for sale...there would be an in house affiliate interior designer. i guess my vision focuses in addition to fashion, on a lifestyle. but i love where your head is at.

I know there are threads similar to this but they are old and the general consensus of tastes have shifted on this board.

So what would you carry in your store? What services would you offer? What unique aspects would you have?

    I'll start:

The store would look more like an appartment than a store. Think dark woods, grand regal and classic. The idea is to sell what items from an individuals home and closet. the selection would be well curated and have select pecices from many brands

The store would be 4 rooms:

a living room, an office, a bathroom and a huge walk in closet.

The closet would contain an ever changing selection of:

    Tim Hamilton

    Nom De Guerre

    Unis

    Comme De Garcon

    Surface 2 Air

    Margiela

    Thom Browne

    Common Projects

    Marc Jacobs

    Lanvin

    Raf Simons

    Jil Sander

    Patrick Ervell

    United Bamboo

    Cloak

    Alexandre Herscoich

    Opening Cermony

    Adam Kimmel

    J Lindenberg

    Alexander Wang

    Nicole Farhi

    Ramdane Touhami

    Rag and Bone

    Hickey

    Helmut Lang

    Michael Bastian

    APC jeans

Band of Outsiders shirts and ties

    Steven Allan shirtd and ties

    w+h loungewear (sweatpants/shirts/ts)

    Jack Spade Accesories

    mo851 leather goods

    Krane leather goods

    Opening Cermony shoes

    Common Projects

    Barker Black shoes

    Vintage Watches

    Army Watches

    Philip Crangi jewelry

    Vintage Glasses

    Persols

    Raybans

The office would have many accesories and books etc such as wallpaper cityguides, moleskin books, current magazines (Time etc.), selected CDs,books by the likes of salinger and hemmingway and Felinni, Godard etc. DVDs The washroom would have classic shaving accesories and modern products like Malin and Goetz. The furniture in the store would be vintage and also contain peices from Klaus which all of course would be for sale. The livingroom would contain a bar selling boutique spirits and provide classic cocktials for the shoppers (Gimlets, Mojitos, Martinis etc)

There would only be one of each item and each size on display at a time like it was a real closet. I would also stock vintage YSL and Hermes etc "passed down from my father" The sales associates would be old men acting as buttlers providing immpecable serivce. The art on the wall would be integrated to look like it is part of the house, which would be constantly changing and for sale. It would be called 4202 as is Apt. 4202. to enter you would walk through a lobby and a faux elevator to reveal the suite.

  4. the omnivore's dilema - michael pollan...and botany of desire for that matter. both are by pollan.

im into food writing and these were both quite intriguing, both an outside of the box take on food culture and history in the us.

  5. minca...out of the way? its like 8 blocks away.

Setaga-ya was cool. Pretty long line but I thought it was worth it. I agree that Minca is overall a bit better, but Setaga-ya has its perks.I got the shio ramen and I thought they're noodles were fine but I agree that the pork wasn't that great. It had an okay flavor but it wasn't as tender as the one in Minca. The broth was good, but I personally prefer the heavier broth at Mincas to the lighter one at Setaga-ya, but I didn't mind it too much.

In the end, I'll probably just go to Setaga-ya a bit more often than minca just 'cause its not as out of the way as Minca is.

  6. i went to setaga-ya today for their grand opening...it was pretty crowded. had the chirashu, it was good...could have been much better though. i like minca better i think. i thought the broth at setaga-ya was excellent, extremely complex but i thought the noodles and the pork weren't the best. the noodles were a bit overcooked and there wasn't enough actual meat on the pork imo. the egg was perfectly cooked, gooey, unlike minca's which is always overcooked. i'd like to see what others think of it.
