  1. I have an interesting viewpoint on this topic. Up until the last year or so, I dressed totally 'counter-culture' as it has been termed, with a heavy emphasis on streetpunk style. This entailed leather/denim vests w/ tons of spikes and patches, skintight jeans, and gaudy hair that stuck out in every direction. However, what I've noticed after reading these forums and keeping an eye on fashion for the past few years is that there is more group think and uniform mentality going on in those areas than in modern fashion. Especially looking at the European trends, they're much more forward thinking than the punks, scene kids, abercrombie/hollister crowd, etc.

Sure, eventually the rest of the world catches on but as long as you stay ahead of the game, you can wear some great looks and then move on before everyone else even thinks about it.

  2. I'm about to sell my PSP back to gamestop, honestly the games don't interest me and I get no use out of it. I've used the thing maybe twice in the past two months to play a few games and I have no times for games anymore so.. I guess I'd say blow your cash on fashion?

    Look for Max Raw.

Im wearing mine a bit looser then those, I could have squeezed into a pair of 30 but went with 31.

As I stated in my initial post, I've looked over their website, but I find their poses and models to be very unimpressive (for example they wear much tighter fits around the waist than i would personally go for, as evidenced by the angled way the jean sits on the hips and the stress on the button of the Max Raw shot). However, the pictures of your jeans look much more relaxed and I'm interested to see how they look up close and on a normal person without a plain white background and shirtless model.

I've taken some interest in the Acne designs after initially disregarding them due to the unflattering pictures present on their websites. Could you take a few pics of them being worn so we can get a better idea how they look under normal circumstances? Maybe I'm the only one, but I have a very hard time comparing flattened/folded jeans to worn.
  5. So perhaps I'm a bit strange but I love the unwashed look of dry jeans. Honestly, once I see all the pictures of people's washed versions I tend to shy away from them a bit. I've had my eyes on a pair of Nudie Slim Jims worn slightly oversized to be straight legged for a while now and I'm finally getting the balls to purchase a pair but I wanted to run a few questions by you guys first.

    1) If I were to never wash them and hopefully never take them out in crazy weather situations, would they maintain their size and color? I'm assuming I could dryclean them to remove any stains and clean them periodically. In that case, I could just buy the proper size and wear them normally rather than worrying about the 'pre-wash/post-wash' sizes and rolling the cuffs which I'm not very fond of.

    2) With my jeans that are pre-washed, I generally go into stores and try them on so I want to keep the fit straight off the shelf. I have washed jeans in the past and they tend to shrink on me so are there any home washing method alternatives i can do to clean them that won't cause these to shrink on me at all?

  6. Thanks guys, I'm going to leave them alone for a while and look into possibly checking out some different shoes. Sadly, I've looked all over the net/local places/NYC/Sanfran for the past five years and haven't found a single pair of shoes I liked other than chuck taylors. All of the fashionable shoes from the past few years have been narrow and reminded me of Puma Romas which I've never been fond of. We'll see.

  7. I've browsed these forums for a long time now having converted from someone who always wears $30 levis and such to more designer type labels over the past few months. I've been saving up for some Nudies but I just saw a pair of Allson's on sale that I couldn't hold back on so I picked them up for cheap. My problem is that with the new denim styles, I really enjoy the clean look unlike everyone who is itching to wear theirs in. Because of this, I'm trying to avoid any major tears or rips and with my new jeans, I'm already seeing fraying on the cuffs after one night of moderate wear.

I've included some pictures in order to show where they sit on my legs in hopes of getting some suggestions as to whether or not I need to worry about this or not. I don't mind a little bit of wear there but I hate pants that are totally wrecked on the back cuff and have tons of frayed fabric hanging off. Will my jeans reach this point or am I safe to leave them alone? If so, should I take them to a tailor, wear them higher, or try to do some basic patching?

After checking out the pics, I dunno whats up with the indentation on the left leg, it usually doesn't sit like that.
