  1. I'm looking for relatively cheap stuff (eg 2,000yen per shirt) that kinda stuff. I'm willing to blow on high quality stuff like nice jeans or maybe a nice jacket.

when i went to tokyo to shop i couldn't find anything for under ¥3,500 for a decent t-shirt. look hard though, you may score. what i would do is get an all day pass and just try and shop in as many places as you can. i'd go to roppingi, ginza, and harajuku. i personally didn't enjoy shibuya or shinjuku because they were so damn crowded.

  2. so basically, you can find anything in nyc? thanks for your guys help. i was also looking for a japanese men's fashion magazine called men's non-no. this magazine is my favorite magazine, even though i can't read it.

  3. when i traveled to japan over the summer i found this amazing magazine called fruits and was wondering if there was anyplace in the united states that i could purchase this mag. i know there were some books issued by phaidon with the same name showing older images in them but was wondering if maybe bigger cities would carry the publication. i sure as hell know cleveland doesn't.

  4. ^B.Wood place?

yes, from beachwood place, there were actually two pairs, the other pair was white with polka-dots. the sales lady told me that a man had come in and retuned the two pairs of comme des garçons shoes, along with a matching suit jacket. it was pure luck that i found the cdg items, considering cleveland would never see any cdg without someone returning merchandise from another store.

  5. for any you who are in the cleveland area, yes cleveland, and are having a dim sum craving stopping over at li wah restaurant is your best bet for a good meal. it's located in "asia plaza" and would be very easy to find driving down payne ave. it is a "cart" dim sum place, so don't expect any bakery shop type deals there. my personal favorites are the shu-mai and the ta zhou bou.

  6. the brigade on coventry will have most of the same merchandise as the one on west 9th street. i talked to brian previously and he said that some lines like nice collective would not be brought to the cleveland heights location because it is maybe too expensive. it should be open sometime in january, which means sometime in february, sooo... but in terms of nabici moving, it will be opening where the old ruth's chris steakhouse was and will be extra big. nabici also came out with a website, which oddly has NO pictures of anything.

  7. yeah the sweaters are very nice and affordable. their leather goods and cashmere are especially great. they also have very good customer service. i just picked up all my christmas gifts for the family there.

  8. Find a thrift store, not a retail jobbie.

i wouldn't go to any of the thrift stores, seeing as they are way overpriced and not that interesting. when i've shopped there i just took the metro all over the city to try to hit up everywhere i wanted to go. the best way to shop is to kind of get lost. i'd try looking first at the streets parallel and perpendicular to omotesando (the street), roppongi hills, and the neverending department stores. my favourite is mitsukoshi (i've found great deals there). if you're there for a limited amount of time just get a railpass and run around the city.
