  1. I'm not familiar with the book, but often times writers include fictional characters that are based on real people. It could be simply be considered an homage. Or perhaps the author isn't able to use the real name due to financial reasons. But the most likely reason is because the actual person is only supposed to serve as an inspiration for the character .

If the author used the real name of the person they would have to follow the facts of their life very closely so as to not get sued. By using a different name they have more creative license to alter the character to fit the story.

An example that comes to mind is the character of Hollis Mulwray in the film Chinatown. The character is loosely based on William Mulholland whose water initiatives enabled Los Angeles to become what it is today.

  6. Last but not least, Supreme even managed to avoid the wrath of the Hells Angels Motorcycle Club

    That's incorrect.

I forget the story, but the Hells Angels made Supreme pull the shirts.

  7. From the website:

"Please allow 5 business days for order processing and verification, and an additional 7-10 business days for delivery. We are not responsible for any lost, stolen, or damaged shipments. All shipments are insured and the buyer assumes all responsibilities of claims made with the shipping carrier. Also, please don't be a whiny bitch."

  8. Anyone want to put it in writing that, say, an old preme m65 was the best version of an m65 in the global marketplace?

I wouldn't necessarily say that an Alpha Industries for Supreme field jacket is the best available, but it's definitely better than a standard Alpha Industries field jacket.

  9. loving the jawbreaker morton tee. ive never gotten so many comments on a t-shirt since my duck joint tee or wolftits by zach lewis

I buy clothes to get compliments from other people, too.

  10. but those collars, not too into it. Supremes alone were better.

Agreed. One of the aspects of Supreme button-downs that make them superior to other brands' shirts is the collar.

Supreme's collars are subtle and don't swallow your next like a lot of other brands' do.

It's tough to tell from a magazine scan, but the initial Thom Browne pics don't look too great. I think this could be another name-driven collaboration.

Who knows? I might have different opinion later on down the road.
