does anyone have first hand experience with these loake royal brogues?or have handled at the very least?

i'm looking for a cheaper alternative to alden long wings, and these seem to fit the bill.

but i've read they're corrected grain and for the price i can't imagine the quality is up to par with aldens.

any help would be great.

i have a pair of SR 60's, 81DJ's and Super Fi.3s

I think of them all i prefer the super.fi's

the 81s i take out with me on cooler days and from regular use the connection has become kinda faulty , and i've only had them for 3 months or so.

fookums did you do that crotch repair on your own?

i've emailed blue in green and they never responded about repairs. either their website is broken or i don't know.

but i'm going to take them to them sometime this week and hope they can fix them asap because i'm leaving the country in a couple of weeks and don't plan on taking any other pairs of jeans..

but your repair looks fairly simple to replicate and in the event that they can't help me i guess i'll just do it myself.

theres MAD pairs there. the smallest they had was a 32 in the lighter khaki color. if you're fat (read: 34+) then you can have as many pairs on sale for 30 bucks.

they have the orangey khaki, the light and the black as well.

and any general info? does anyone know if the company is japan based or is it an actual US MILSPEX manufacturer?

fre$co i had the same problem when going to the alden shop.

you should have walked down a couple blocks more to brooks brothers to see the black fleece shoes which are apparently made by alden as well, only with 2 times the price tag.

sorry for however that came out, i wasn't trying to put down the photographers.

i guess i was just attempting to show the rest what they're missing from the pics, because while not the best, they are a bunch better than APC's.

and to wilkes, the train tracks are coming slowly but steadily.

but i have yet to have any lost threads in the back. however where i cuff has completely torn at the inseam.

as a contestant it's a little disheartening to see the evolution pics without anyone trying to show where the beauty of this denim really lies.

all the pictures so far have shown a bland jean that seems to fade evenly and dare i say similar to a pair of APC's.

that is really not the case, so here is a small update on the texture. for some reason vertical falling isn't apparent on anyones pics really.

hope people can appreciate what started out as a pretty uncharacteristic denim and with time have become something wonderful
