  1. Good meaty discussion, I've been wanting to make a thread along similar lines too, about the loss of creativity and staleness right now.

However Abel, You seem to be taking constant shots at the UK/England for some bizarre reason? Have you personally had bad experiences with a bunch of British or English people or were you treated bad when travelling within the UK? I can see value in certain things you've expressed in your original point, however the quote below is well off the mark! There is no way that 'American mall-goers' would embrace trends before the UK. As a whole, the UK market is very up to date with current trends. I can't imagine but a few cities in the States where this rings true.

Quote: Something is dope, known about by very few, then it catches a buzz, hits the now famous "tipping point" and then >poof< the kids who were down from jump consider it wack as the rest of mall-goers in America embrace it, then in England, then everywhere else.

It seems you're acting like NYC is the centre of street culture period. If you open your eyes you'll realise street culture exists in ANY urban centre worldwide. What you seem to be honing in onto is a niche within niche market. Sure, There are MINI populations from outside of the States and NYC trying to represent a culture they haven't lived or something they aren't, yet there is a MUCH larger number who don't. There are movements happening that aren't imitations of street culture developed or happening in NYC or America, throughout the world on a constant basis.

I believe there is nothing wrong with the appreciation of culture that you may not live and breathe, however if you are trying to be something you aren't, that is entirely different.

  2. Thanks England!

I often wondered the difference between Porter & HeadPorter, thanks for the explanation. Know of any Japanese online stores stocking Porter? I know Ace Web stocks HeadPorter.

You don't agree that the bag I posted a photo of is exorbitantly priced? (Around US $180 for a simple bag like that seems rediculous no?!)

  3. I've been aware of Headporter products for a long time now, but am unaware of who they market themselves towards? Are they actually marketed towards the 'streetwear' crowd or is that something that has been appropriated?

Can anyone give me some brand history etc.

Also want to know what warrants the exorbitant prices?! Have heard that the quality is top notch, can anyone confirm this?

Close to 20 000 yen for this bag alone seems ridiculous! :

  4. Wow, a seminar with a bootleg Karl Lagerfeld?

Obviously the seminar is learning how to be a complete freak at 70 years of age?

Tell me, why SHOULD you go to a seminar when you don't even know what Mr. Lagerfeld represents..... ?

    P.s.

You have other research/information options at your fingertips other than Superfuture.

  5. Wow, gorgeous jacket!

The fit is perfect for you (as stated by other members already) however I think you'd do well with a slimmer cut jean with a better fit in the seat as it will improve the overall silhouette (also already mentioned!).

I was searching for a G-1 jacket for this winter, but since I was in the Southern Hemisphere for almost 2 months over winter I've decided to wait until next Autumn/Winter. Personally, for myself I am going to go for an ever so slightly roomier fit. Where did you purchase your A-2, and are you able to disclose price please! (Feel free to private message me).

  6. I recently bought some Hanes Beefy Tees and they seemed larger when compared with last time I purchased some. The sleeves are pretty long... I roll em anyway seeing as thats what I like to do so it was no problems for me. They fit good bodywise, not too slim, not too baggy or square cut. I reccomend buying perhaps 1-2 in the size you think you are and 1-2 below the size you think you are to gauge what you think, then you can purchase however many you need with the knowledge they'll fit great!

Quality is very good too, neckline stays great wash after wash etc.

  7. I actually apologise come to think of it.

I was judging you on preconceived notion of who you were, when in reality all you were asking was a question. I was channelling all my anger towards this board going downhill because of a migration of members from a certain online sneaker community towards you, simply because you asked a question about sneakers (Albeit one that could have been asked on numerous sneaker forums.)

    As I stated above, apologies.
