  1. Does anyone know of any good furniture stores in Sweden? I am looking for modern designer, used midcentury pieces, textiles, ceramics, and anything else worth checking out.

Also looking for a place to find old prints.

    Thanks.

  2. What's your ideal work space set up?

    (Desk-Table/Pens/Pen Container/Computer/Notebook/Organizational System/Calender/Whatever)

I can't work with any clutter on my desk, so I'm looking for decent layout ideas...

    What I have...

    Work:

    photo%2525281%252529.JPG

A mug holding my .38 Muji pens, Alvin Drafting pencil, Tide to Go pen, and pens to lend people.

    MacBook Pro

    Work Phone

(usually I have a moleskin or an Action book [http://www.creativesoutfitter.com/Products/Action-Book/4] on my desk, iPhone, peanut butter, and a cup of water-but they are only transient visitors to the desk)

All on a bamboo wood desk about 6' x 3'

What I ideally want for home:

I'm custom making a vertical pen stand out of wood for my .38 Muji pens, so that.

Glass Top desk about 6.5'x 4.5'

    iMac

Custom wood iPhone stand (so it's propped up & staring at me).

What do you have that works/desks you've seen you love?

  3. It's "Puerto Rican Day"-eve here in Spanish Harlem, so I'm staying in and watching objectified.

I've been thinking about my role in consumerism (I work in advertising) and I don't really want to be part of it any more. I'm starting to become more conscious, I imagine that everyone else on here already is, about how I consume and am deciding to join those who intend to buy things right, and buy them once.

Here are the things I have that I won't have to replace in 20 years, and the things I'll be hoping to add.

Things I bought right the first time:

AllClad 10" frying pan (the copper core one)

    Alvin Drafting Pencils

    Brooks Brothers Ties

    Silver cufflinks (engraved with initials)

[i have a long way to go]

    Future Purchases:

    Chef's knife (custom)

    Vintage Vespa

    Filson Duffle

Upper end Headphones (maybe these: http://bit.ly/mdfsIg )

    Dress shoes ( something from http://blog.leffot.com/ )

    Remmington 870 Shotgun

Buying food and clothes, (and books) might not stop, but I'd love to make everything I can.

I'd love to hear your plans/thoughts/etc...

  4. I lived in newark, san jose (right by almaden expressway), and sunnyvale. Sunnyvale is nice- nice if you are settled down with a family. I miss Armadillo Willy's.

San Jose has a kind of cool layout if you don't like real cities. Great if you like mexican markets and viet food (which I do like).

Also lived in Gilroy, Greenfield, and Hollister. I'd rather never live there again. Although Greenfield's OK if you never want to be found by humanity again.

  5. Fabregas 45-60 million pounds

    Craig? 12-14 million.

obviously fabregas is the better player, but for what barca needs (what do they need?) and what city need, I think the way things are aren't so bad.

oh and beast, you think chelesa needs to buy during the transfer market to stay atop during african cup of nations?

  6. barca is lucky if they don't get fabregas- he gets hurt every 3 games or so.

bellemy should stay in city. good finisher.

aston villa better make it to champions league.

chelsea need to change their course or they will no win the premiership. the way the played in the beginning, i picked them to win the champions league, but they won't win the way they are playing.

death to the big 4! long live team parity and end the unlawful hegemony of the almighty pound!! to every city a champion, to every team the fear of relegation! viva la revolucion!

oh, and depending on the transfer market, real madrid will be the team to fear.

  7. im 5'7" and im riding a 53cm surly. feels fine for my case. cept that i used to get lots of toe overlaps. but i've figured my way out of it after awhile.

How did you get ride of the toe overlap? Did you switch to shallower toe cages? I am getting a lot of that on my 50 cm (53 on most other bikes) kilo tt.

  8. are you open to other brands or set on it...?

    Sorry about your crash.

I am open to other brands, but I'd rather not wait a month for the new Kilo TT's to be finished. I want to stay under 600.

    Thanks
