Actually, you'll get an off white color. I've successfully bleached two pairs of jeans that had wear marks I didn't care for. Submerge the jeans in a 50/50 bleach/water solution over night, repeat if necessary until you can't see any more blue. Then wash the jeans BY THEMSELVES, repeat until you've rid them of the bleach smell. Getting dark blue jeans to become completely white is probably a foolish endeavor.

I don't get why people won't buy these jeans. Except for the crazy sizing, a la APC, the denim and construction are on par with APC. It's a bargain at $50, and any price below $40 is absolutely a steal.

I had a pair of Gucci selvage some time ago, they're nice but nothing to write home about. Depends on what you're looking for in a pair of jeans, you can find better denim for that price range.

I bougth a seam ripper at a local Target for less than 3 bucks. It really comes in handy for ripping up back pocket stitching and neck tags. I imagine a sharp box cutter would work well too.

These fakes pop up on ebay every so often. Somebody really put in the effort to give them decent fades, and real selvage too. Don't know how they'd hold up in the long run though.

You may want to check out some RRL slim fit on ebay. I just got a pair for dirt cheap the other day and am very impressed with the construction and fit. They're slim fit, low rise, non-tapered, japanese selvage, felled seams, nice indigo. For around 50 bucks, you really can't go wrong. Just make sure you ask the seller what the exact measurements are because they're all over the place. My size 26 measured 31" waist.

Polo custom fit is nice, my favorite. Brooks Brothers's slim fit is a tad longer with longer sleeves as well. Lacoste fits slim as well, although I haven't tried their retro fit.

FYI, I went snowboarding with a pair of loose fit levi's once. I wore a pair of long johns underneath. They were sufficient to keep me reasonably warm for 6-8 hours of snowboarding. I did this years ago when I first began to learn snowboarding. Needless to say, the jeans are faded everywhere. I still have them and ususally put them on to go shovel snow.

i like the way this look. $95 isn't too bad either considering the quality. it's strange that they only have size large available. i wonder how much shrinkage to expect and what're the overall dimensions. can you give us some ideas shorty?
