I've been tattooed by Grime and Matt Shamah at Analog - both are extremely good shops, arguably some of the best. That being said - if you really want a Hooper tattoo (who wouldn't) take the time/money to do it right - it's going to be worth it to save up and take a trip rather than compromising by getting a tattoo you're not 100% on. Don't take another tattooists work and ask someone else to do it, it's corny and anyone worth their salt probably won't do it.
Getting the right tattoo isn't about convenience or saving money. I've gotten numerous hook-up tattoos from homies, and while sometimes they come with a great story and look decent, it's worth it to get the highest quality tattoos. No bargain shopping.

grime is ill... having only B&W ink i wonder how some of that color will fade... color is kinda scary to me for that reason.
As with any tattoo, the better it's applied the longer it will last. Suncreen is super important. I've seen dudes with proper back pieces from Horioshi where the detail and color is still super crisp 10 - 15 years later, on the other hand there's countless examples of color work going to shit in the sun, from hard living and being applied like shit in the first place.
I stick with black and gray work for a few reasons - it holds up better over time, B&G work has more of a timeless look and I don't want to look like a fucking rainbow when I'm older. This more applies to how I get my tattoos, piece by piece - it allows for more cohesion.

Grime's got about a 2 year waiting list. I was lucky being local and I wanted a smaller piece, only had to wait a few weeks. Any wait is worth it for a tattoo from him. Super rad guy and makes some of the best tattoos in the world.

These Trickers boots are amazing but are something like $777 and only available in S.Korea - does anyone know of a similar styled boot - black wingtip/brouge over the ankle with that type of sole?
