  1. I can say that because I am surrounded by denim all day, everyday, as I work for Levi's. Acronym's non-denim is a nice fresh release from all of that for me.

I don't know where you can see the line in NY, probably nowhere, as ACR is in Munich, and the only way I know you can see all of the stuff is the buyer's only website, which you have to have a password to get access to....sorry, I can't provide it, but I did get a chance to pre-order some stuff through one of the few retailers of ACR (not the Glade). Can't wait until Oct: 2 pairs of pants, a hoody, and a DOPE new jacket.

Acronym is probably my favorite line in a LONG time....

  2. Historically, the "Big Three" (Levi's/Lee/Wrangler) had a colored warp stitch in the selvedge in order to identify them easier at the mills. Levis=Red, Lee=Green, Wrangler=Yellow

  3. They were NOT only sold in Boston and New York. They were sold at all the Marc Jacobs boutiques. I grabbed the green highs @ Marc Jacobs on Maiden Lane in San Francisco. They may still have pairs left.

  4. Quote: I have also seen some later redline ugly bartack with the circle R tab that are from the old premium line, of which the name escapes me. it was a run in the late 90's, but not Levi's RED

That was REDLINE, the pre-cursor to RED. I have a pair from that line with the same bartacks, and they also have the red tab with the registered logo only.

  5. Recon in NY and SF both carry Acronym, I believe they are the only retailers in the US. Acronym does hold some military contracts for design. I believe he (Errolson) has also done stuff for the SAS and also US military.

I think ACR is the cream of the crop. Just picked up my 4th jacket, and I must say it's lovely, really digging the jacket-sling, quite functional, actually. My favorite is the cashmere/gore tex jacket.
