  1. Having a lot of problems with homeless people lately.

Today I was walking the dog with my wife when we passed by some homeless dude with a sign and just ignored him. He spat at my wife but missed and we turned around and we were like wtf. My wife flips him off and he tosses his sign comes up to us in some weird sideways bboy stance like his side\back is facing me and he starts talking shit asking us if we're gonna call the cops, calling my wife a bitch. I told him to fuck off and made a shitty attempt at spitting on his face, my mouth being a bit dry the spit spreaded like the spread gun in Super Contra and went across the guys back/head instead of a fukinese loogie that I wanted. He asks did I just spit on him, I was like yeah, and he tells me I dare you to spit on me, and I reply I just did and he walks away.

A few weeks ago I walked by some random old homeless guy who looks like the old sailor from the youtube videos that beat the shit out of some young on the bus. As I walk passed him, he starts mumbling and follows me for 8 blocks. Finally I just turn around and hes a good 7-8 yards away, I throw my arms up in the air doing the "whats up homie" and he turns around walks the other direction.

I guess you have to call people on their bullshit games sometimes.

  2. It seems to be a common thing for omakase places to rush you through the meal. I ate at Sasabune in New York a while ago and we were in and out in 45 minutes. Often they brought the next dish out before anyone could have possibly finished the one before. The food is great but I don't get why they hurry so much, the place wasn't even anywhere near full.

Not at all. Sasabune is famous for rushing people.

Dismal, Not a fan of just straight sushi, would have been nice to have some nimono, sashimi.

  3. i think then the secret to happiness is randomly finding small piles of money on the ground

    but not too much money

    and not all at once

Yeah thats nice and all but you cant dive scrooge mcduck style into small piles without getting hurt.

  4. When my wife interviewed at Sumitomo, their pitch "yes you will make 1/3 what you made at your european company in base because your position would be grade 4 which has a payscale limit, nowhere near as much in bonus but you will never get laid off here"

    fuck working for Japanese companies

  5. Bump!

Shopping seems more expensive than in NYC, was expecting slightly cheaper prices for european labels. My wife has trouble finding small sizes(thought French women were smaller), she is regulated to browsing in the high end children's section in dept stores. Alot of trouble finding EU 32 size for her, she usually orders from Rakuten or Canadian sites.

    Restaurants

Akrame - Best meal we had so far, some really creative dishes, thought we ordered a more extensive course because of a language barrier issue, but yeah excellent value.

Verjus - very american friendly, place was filled with Americans, but food is uninspiring, safe, boring, bland, but light

Le Comptoir du Relais- Excellent, nice Japanese cooks, could eat here every week if I lived in Paris, but this is my lunch experience

Le Chateaubriand - Best wine pairings of the trip, some interesting courses, only one really bad dish, it was katsuo, had better frozen store brought katsuo from Japan, surprised how easy it was to get a reservation, and yeah we did go to the right one.

After 5 days of eating brasserie faire and tasting menus, stomach was craving rice and miso soup, Japanese food here is pretty sad for a city filled with Japanese line cooks and sous chefs.

  6. oh damn she speaking cantonese. nice

so korean girl speaking cantonese? kind of a dream.

    head blown

ioono but i think its canto speaking korean tho

She immigrated to Hong Kong when she was young, and she speaks Korean to her mom. She has a really annoying modern HK girl accent.
