I only know of Century 21 real estate agents... they're in Singapore, Australia, and Hong Kong.

I think there is a store in Times Square - Causeway Bay.
They have clothes, but not sure whether they have bags and shoes.

urban sprawl: "3x1" is that talking about warp vs weft? How can we recognise that? Is it the angle that the diagonal stripes make on the back of the cloth?

http://denim-gallery.heavy.jp/eternal_811-5.html
It translates: "worn 9 months, washed 7 times".
I like the high contrast.
Anyone got more information on the brand?

Serge is saying that you should wash them inside out (as you can see in the nudie link).
The aim is to get natural wear marks on the denim.
If you don't wash them inside out... then the washing machine will make unnatural wear marks on the denim.
A "top loading" washing machine is the worst. Front loaders are much better because they don't thrash your clothes.

Thanks ringring.
I guess I am wondering why - within the one brand - the higher grade denims have thicker hairs (assuming that the grades are treated the same, and the hairs aren't burnt off).
And I guess my question about the selvage flaps is mainly fascination with the almost supernatural way that the evisu flaps sit flat ... i doubt that washing, tumble drying, or ironing them in the wrong direction would stop them sitting flat.

... thanks in advance if you can field or confirm any of these.
<ul>
[*] Why is the high grade denim hairy? - do the hairs wear-off or wash-off ? (I saw the 0 grade evisu denim in Tokyo - and it had these thick albino flies legs sticking out of it.)
[*] How do Evisu and Vintage Levi selvage flaps sit so flat? yet the nudie selvage has become crooked after one wash. I've seen Lee and GSTAR jeans with the selvage glued down... yuck.
[*] Is a tighter fit - better for getting whiskers? Nudie recommend buying tight - their attitude seems to be "stretch to fit" rather than "shrink to fit". Also, the nudie denim is thinner... does this help for getting crisp whiskers?
[*] Has anyone got information on the L.Vuitton selvage denim? I've got a broken-twill jacket with writing in the selvage. Is this French selvage denim? Japanese?

Look for Rogan in the big IT store in Causeway... also in Shine store. Other IT stores also have Rogan.
Look for APC at the APC shop in Causeway.
Look for Adidas 35ths in D-MOP in Causeway... actually, their sister store in Causeway D-01... I saw the whole first series on display there, but missed out on the lucky draw to get the Neigborhoods.
Not sure about 7 or Cimmaron. There's some threads in the MAPS section on HK.

D-MOP in Causeway Bay is big, but isn't that good for denim (oki-ni evisu, tsubi).
Also go to IT down the road (rogan, some edwin).
For Y-3 also go to Joyce.

I would be careful buying sunglasses for someone else... it's very subjective and very personal.
Face/Head shapes are variable - so something you like - may look damn weird, or maybe too uncomfortable for the wearer.
I saw Ian Brown wearing the reflective pervert sunglasses during his stoneroses gig... you should copy him.

it's the regular ralf veggie indigo
i've got a pair of dry regular ralph (non-vegetable indigo)... the cut is great - slight flare, low waist. it's more a slacker-rock-cut than the vintage-carrot-cut
you can use the storefinder on their site. they have stores in sydney, and melbourne... and I have seen their stock in Seibu HK. not all of their outlets will stock the veggie indigo... so give them a call. the veggie indigo comes in a box with a special t-shirt.

nudie have a vegetable indigo jean...
don't know if it's a surface dye, but it's much lighter than their other chemically dyed jeans.
most of their selvage denim is from japan, so i assume that this is from there too.

japanese editions have the red tab with japanese writing - i was told that they don't make these anymore, but there are still some sizes available in evisu shops
most japanese editions will now have "EVISU" or "eVISU" on the tab.

I've bought shoes at their store in Tokyo. No idea about the website service.
Bought some superstars from the Shinjuku store, and also visited the Shibuya store. Service was okay.
There were some nice white shoes on sale, but when we asked to try on the other foot - the other shoe they brought out was so heavily soiled that it looked like a different color.

Yeah, ocean centre/harbour city has heaps of shops. An LV store - busier than a fish market. Diesel, Laundry, Hysteric Glamour...
There is a 1001 Original Inc. on 81 Chatham Road. I've got an address for another one 19-23 Austin ave... but i've never been there.
Just up on Chatham there is a building full of the Harajuku style fashion shops. And there is another one of these buildings just off Granville rd. Some of these little botiques stock BAPE stuff, some of them stock junk - but interesting.
New world centre has a lot of stores too.

1001
G/F Sun Lee Building, 43 Wellington St. Central.
Stock: International Evisu. + silk embroidered jackets.
They also have a couple of stores in TST. Are there plans for maps of TST, and Mongkok.
And there is a small "Shine" shop on wellington - upstairs, but it's not that big. The causeway shop is much better.
The Landmark building has a whole stack of Armani, including an Armani florist, homewares and beauty salon. It also has Dior, LV, and two Marc Jacobs.
I think the "joyce" and "seibu" are meant to be on the Wan Chai map... inside Pacific Place.

This might help, sorry for the big size, but it's needed for the street names.
[admin: we just resized it]
Building A is Timesquare, so it's already on your map (my mistake).
Timesquare has Gucci, Pageone, Laundry...
There is a Vuitton on Hysan Avenue.

Loomstate Denim
in superdenim
Posted
... agree with MyMindSpray.
The Loomstates I've seen were like Levi redtabs. The denim didn't have a depth of texture/colour that you get in Rogan, or Japanese selvage denims. Nor the comfort of the ethanol cut.
Also, like most Rogans, the distressing is excessive. The jeans looked ready to retire. Breaking them in is the fun part - don't pay Rogan to do the fun part. I'd probably buy some if they were raw.
... seems more organic to break them in yourself.
