  1. If you could set aside some Underwords in size 11 for me when they come in it'd be much appreciated, mate.

    **OFF TOPIC**

And what can I say about this afternoon... Scholsey and Giggsy couldn't seem to string more than two passes together, or dribble a few yards without being tackled. It was particularly noticeable since they've been in such good form lately... Anyhow, I still thought we looked decent value for a 0-0, until Carroll's howler. We aren't out yet, but we're going to need to play like we did in Turin in '99 if we're gonna go through.

And apparently Carroll's holding out on re-signing 'cause he wants more money, eh? Maybe then he'll be able to afford a decent pair of gloves, as at the moment it seems as though he just shoves his hands into a couple of banana skins come matchday.

  2. Good to hear from you again, mate. Any other music series coming in along with the Rocs?

And what about the CL this week? I reckon we'll come good against Milan, just like we did against Arsenal. And with Chelsea losing players left and right, lets hope they'll be dropping a few points in the league, too.

  3. I have a couple of Lacoste shirts from the Lacoste shop here in Toronto (and I'm neither Eurotrash or a fratboy, oddly enough) and they're very similar to the one pictured in that auction. The details the sellers mentions are correct, and his shirt looks authentic to me.

Not sure how he's able to sell them at such cheap prices, though. Sometimes factories will produce extra and sell them off on the side for cheap, I've heard.

  4. I posted about this on Crooked for you, and apparently it's going to be hard work as dual accounts are tough to get. But for what it's worth, someone pointed out this site

    http://www.shoeshi.com/bulk.html

They're based in Europe and they're keen to link up with retailers to do bulk orders of European exclusives. It's not a direct Nike account obviously, but it might be a starting point.

Also, I know Nike's European operations are based out of the Netherlands, so if you know any Dutch heads, they might be able to lend a hand...

  5. Copped a pair of the Project Playground last night and they're immediately my new favorite in the expression seires. In fact, one of the nicest in the whole 35th range, including consortium, if you ask me. Make sure to get yours on Tuesday!

Gotta give big thanks to I J F down at Lileo for sorting me out, as well.

(Seen Rooney's goals yet then, man? They were both ridiculous, but the second one was just bananas!)

So you'll have the Rocs on sale at Lileo as of Monday, IJF? Or does that only go for the Expression Series. I'm looking for some Project Playgrounds, but if you guys have music series as well, I'd love to pick some up!

awww bummer, i would love to have a cyberspace virtual lover like you :(

120 bucks for the adicolor is a very fair price, i think stores in the us selling them *adidas as whole* for about 130 to 140.

where did you get yours? they have online store?:)

im a hunter with an orange camo boxer.

    Better luck next time, dude.

As for the shoes, I got them at a shop here in Toronto. But there are some on the Bay already:

actionhank, how much did you get for that adicolor?

is the 150 canadian money sounds good for those adidas series?

do you chat online? maybe we can talk about whatever sometimes dude...

ok, i admit it... i like to pick up guys in a forum!

--- Original message by justaname on Jan 26, 2005 11:02 PM

The Adicolors were $150 as well, which is around $120 USD. It's a fair price, I'd say.

As for picking up guys in forums, I don't reckon my girlfriend would be too pleased, mate, so I'll have to pass on that!

and how many in that series have you got your hands on already actionhank? you seem to be really busy hunting for them.icon_smile.gif

ps. my rant of the day, i hate it when retail shops never know anything about their shipment will be coming, i've been calling this shops for days and they never sure when they will get their stuff...

--- Original message by justaname on Jan 26, 2005 05:33 PM

Ha, I've done laps of the downtown core tracking these things down, my friend. icon_smile_wink.gif

So far I've picked up the Upper Playground, Captain Tsubasa and Adicolor joints. And hopefully on Tuesday I'll pick up the Project Playgrounds. Still haven't decided on the Lee Q's.

I'm also desperately trying to get my hands on at least one pair of the Consortium series, but so far I've had no luck. eBay prices are at least around the $600 range, at the moment... I even considered booking a flight to NY to catch the drop at Union, but by the time you add a couple hundred bucks for transportation and shelter, you may as well pay eBay prices.

And I know what you mean about shops not knowing about their own stock. At the moment I'm a bit annoyed that no shops seem to know anything about the Half Shells, which I reckon - apart from all this SS35 madness - are one of Adidas' hottest re-issues this year. I really hope some local shops get them in.

  10. Yeah, 4000 is not too bad at all. Puma had a series this past summer of 2004 pairs in a number of colorways in celebration of the Olympics. I saw them all summer long in shops both here and in Europe, and they can still be found on Queen St. Some were even being reduced in boxing day sales.

Admittedly, the SS35s will probably be more sought after, but 4000 is still a fair amount. And 5000 for the music series, don't forget.

well as i described above about the shoes, that's the adidas superstar II *i think, im not really sure i can't find my box* but what's the difference between I and II? the pair that i have, the one im talking about, is a black and white stipes. the tongue didn't say adidas I or II. now im clueless on whether i should get 11 or 11.5 ... god help me! :(

--- Original message by justaname on Jan 26, 2005 12:22 AM

If the tongue is slightly cushioned then it's probably a superstar II. Apparently Superstar I's don't have any padding in the tongue.

does any of you guys how big is the 11.5 adidas superstar compare to the size 11? i dont' want to wear a shoes that's too big, the 11 fit but when i stand up the shoes kinda stretched out.. if you know what i mean.. but the toes is perfect thougt *a little too fit to be exact*

--- Original message by justaname on Jan 25, 2005 03:14 PM

    justname:

For what it's worth, I find I wear size 11.5 in a Superstar II (which is the most common model of Superstar on store shelves these days). The Expression series is based on the Superstar I, and I have so far bought size 11s.

Actionhawk are those pics posted directly from TNT and if so, was it Andy who posted those?

Everyone always mistakes it for actionhaWk. icon_smile_blackeye.gif

Ha, but nah, I snapped those pics myself. Copped the pair this morning, brought em home and posted them up.

aw man i thought the adicolors came with five colored laces on one shoe and white on the other. by the way, what cities are you planning to pick up actionhank?

    --- Original message by high_contrast on Jan 25, 2005 10:51 AM

But you can always do that yourself, eh?

I think that's what I'm gonna do. I'll leave one pair white/white and then lace the other one up with the colored laces. My only problem is how to get all the colored laces in there at once. I might go buy some extra colored laces from Groovy or Get Outside and cut them up... don't want to risk cutting up the laces that come with the Adis, though!

As for the cities, for sure I want Londons, and pretty sure I want Tokyos. The Buenos Aires look great with the green laces, but I'm not sure about the flowers and suns pattern, so I'll wait till I've seen 'em in person. How about you?

  15. Adicolors are now available from TNT Blue @ Hazelton Lanes, Toronto. They're also stocking the Warhols, Tsubasas and Disneys. $150CAD.

Here are some pics of the Adicolors. You can see that the colored laces are, indeed, included, along with the marker pens and - something of a surprise - an SS35 stencil set.

The markers are not the full range of colors that were released back in '84, but there's still a good variety. Also, the box indicates that they are Staedtler lacquer markers, so you may be able to pick up similar pens at art supply shops.

Some pics of the Adicolor set:

Anyone have any tips on how to get the different colored laces in there together and still leave room for your foot?

  16. Actually, the music series are even less limited than the expression series. 5000 pairs worldwide, so you probably don't have to sweat on them too much.

    Here's the breakdown

    Dasslers: 700 pairs world-wide

Consortiums: 300 (except undfd 600, and Union, 400)

    Expression: 4000

    Music: 5000

Anniversay: Not specified / general release

Cities: Not specified / general release

    Top Secret: ???

  17. Delphic is definitely also in on the SS35s. I've spoken to them myself. They're carrying the Run DMCs for sure, as well as the Chilli Peppers and some cities.

And genuinearticle, I believe the music series are also limited to 4000 pairs. Not certain on that, thought.

There seems to be a little bit of incosistency between shops. Da Zone are expecting them around the second week of February, while Groovy have told me as late as April.

actionhank, dont you guys have adidas originals store back there? cos i remember seeing a couple of halfshells in that colorway in the originals store in NY

--- Original message by hahnstch on Jan 23, 2005 04:36 AM

Unfortunately we don't have any Adidas Originals shops up here at all! We have retailers like Lileo, Groovy, Da Zone, Delphic and a few others who stock quite a few Adidas Originals products, but we don't have an actual Originals shop, so we definitely miss out sometimes.
  20. Awesome, thanks for the info I J F!

But for those Toronto heads unable to wait until the official Feb. 1st drop date for some SS35s, Da Zone (468 Queen St. W) have their allocation of the Expression series onsale a little early. They're stocking the Upper Playground, Captain Tsubasa, and Disney collabos, and hope to have the Lee Q's in soon. All priced at $149.99.

They'll hold your size if you phone them up (416 868 9663), so get on it quick! I copped a pair of the UPs and Tsubs on Friday night, and I have to say it's great to see Toronto finally getting up on the SS35s after missing out on the Consortiums and Dasslers. It's about time! icon_smile_big.gif

Here are some pics, although you really have to see these shoes in person!

Also, I J F, any word on whether Lileo is ordering the Half Shells Champions series for spring? Most Toronto spots seem to be ordering just the white/white colorway, whic has nothing on some of the Champions' colours, if you ask me!
