    > London [best city in Europe, by far. but expensive!]

    > Madrid [if you don't value your sleep, relatively cheap cost of living a plus]

    > Chicago [Midwestern America may be boring, but it is never dull]

    > Buenos Aires [it's as if Paris suddenly moved to the backwaters of So America]

    > Washington [singles scene is good, despite everything else needed to make it a world class city is missing]

    > Louisville, KY [not exactly a world class city, but it has a certain southern charm. Kentucky Derby!]

    > Cordoba [for romance]

Not exactly a thorough list, since I've never really been to Asia or points on the west coast.

    Thanks for all the info.

I've heard good things about Nobu and it's slightly more accessible Nobu Next Door. But can anyone suggest a sushi place slightly more affordable. i.e. Somewhere in the Moderate [$20-30] per person range?

Has anyone been to Miyako in Williamsburg?

    Once again, thanks.

Can anyone recommend some good sushi establishments in Manhattan or Brooklyn. In particular places downtown [s of 14th and n of Houston] or in Williamsburg or Greenpoint would be best.

I personally like Hedeh [57 Great Jones St] but I know there are many other great and even better places out there.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Guys.

I agree, the LES is probably the best place to find a bar with a lively scene.

If your more into live music and bands, you might check out some of the bars on the Bowery.

If your into something more divey, I definitely suggest walking up Ave A,B or C in the East Village, or try Bleecker Street or West Fourth St in Greenwich Village by NYU [watch out for all the drunk college students though].

If there is one place you should avoid at all costs, is anywhere in the Meatpacking District, unless of course you like paying $10 for a glass of watered down wine.

Not quite sure what kind of bar exactly you are looking for, but I agree with smurf. You can generally just go with the bars that SuperFuture recommends. They've yet to let me down!
