  1. I was just wondering about the quality and if it's worth it or not...I don't care if anybody likes it or not or what "group" it's associated with...I just so happened saw a pair that looks good and different from all their usual stuff. But thanks for the feedback...as for the Levi's store in SF...I've gotta say I'm dissapointed with the stuff they stock. That building is not meant for true denim lover/connosieurs, it's more like a gap/old navy for people who wear Levi's mainstream market stuff.

All in all, I've yet to step into a Levi's store in America that sells great stuff...as far as I know9but I could be wrong), in the states, all the hot levi's are not sold in levi's stores. The levi's stores overseas are much better. With that said at least they have a vintage section....oh well.

  3. do diesel's suck? I know most Diesel Jeans aren't exactly "THE" denim to own and no one here seems to talk bout it. I've never owned any and never really bothered to look at the Diesel store here in downtown SF. But lately while walking pass the store there's this one pair I see inside hanging somewhere that I kinda like and would like some info from u guys. Coz I'm thinking of going in there soon to check it out.

Are they worth the money as compared with the other brands out there? How's the quality like? Are the washes good? Do they have raw denim? Any info will be helpful...even complaints.

  4. so you're a t-shirt virgin huh? erm...can't exactly help you either...I don't exactly know much about stock tee manufacturers except for the big names like Hanes...but according to everyone here on the boards, you should definitely avoid AA. Ignore this post.

  5. for those who are wondering what differences will regular washing and infrequent washing do...I have two very good examples to show off that belong to me which also happens to be the 2 pair of jeans I wear the most. One which I have been washing very often after every few wears due to the high amount of sweating when I'm wearing it and another which I try my best not to wash at all unless it's absolutely necessary...i.e. smells or makes me feel uncomfortable/itchy. I will post the pics up as soon as I buy a new digital camera. IMO I believe they provide a very realistic example of how it will most probably look like after a few years. Hope it'll help all you guys out there make a decision on what kinda look you wanna achieve on em! I think you should do that to ringring.

  6. just a question...when someone says "italian denim" or "Japanese denim" or "indian denim" or "whatever denim", does it just mean that the denim cloth is weaved and manufactured in said country or does it mean that the cotton that is used to make the denim is from that said country itself? Or both? i.e. origin of cotton and manufacturing.

  7. yeah the 503s are definitely one of my preferred "back to basics" regular fit jeans. Although I don't wear them anymore coz I don't really dig the wash anymore...dunno why but kinda stopped liking it about a year after owning them some years ago.

  8. D.U.N.K.L.E.s are definitely the best SBs that came out last year...2nd is the Hunter...just for the materials! Something fresh...won't say i really love the colours though. Nothing special about the shimizu's IMO.

  9. those Japanese brands are always gonna be waaay too expensive but putting Number Nine in the same group as Recon and Silas is really wrong...Number Nine's range and styles are not as narrow as say Recon's...which is pretty much all the way military inspired street wear.

  10. and I don't think he's fallen off at all. He's growing as an artist and is trying and doing new stuff...he's a natural innovator. By doing this and moving forward he's bound to upset hardcore fans who were driven to him by his gradener/crazy children/LMF early stuff. It's inevitable to lose fans when you grow.

they aren't only for exhibition. You can Buy Lau figures, they are usually between $80-$150 but they can be bought.

I sa wthe Nike exhibit online, but the pictures were way to dark to see what was going on. I kind of also think he's fallen off a bit.

freshnessmag.com has better pics of it.

No, I know that but he has several stuff that are not for sale and were only meant for exhibition. His bestest stuff are not for sale at all! Maybe only a few given to his friends etc.

  12. problem is most of the best Michael Lau stuff are only for exhibition...have you seen his latest Nike T90 project? Michael Lau is the best as his figures all have a great character as he is a very inventive and interesting character designer. Don't see figure designers out there that can come up with wacky, fun, interesting and at the same time cool characters like he does.

  13. no, I don't have a magazine...I said:" If I actually work for one "

hmm...ok...I'd personally prefer it not to be too obvious or "patchy" if u know what I mean? Well, I'll just have to wait and see how it develops...I personally think the minor torns etc gives it a new identity...so I hope it doesn't rip and gimme a hole.

  14. yoyo ringring...question...pick up the phone! (yet another lame opening by me) icon_smile_wink.gif

are sending your jeans to be mended by the specialists generally worth it? I'm talking like minor rips and torns and tears that appear after years of wearing and washing a pair of jeans. I have this one pair which I like which has been worn in and worn out thoroughly now which has a tear down at the cuffs which I actually don't mind keeping...apart from that I have some minor rips and torns at the sides slightly lower than the hips kinda sitting right next to the pockets that I'm worried will finally get a hole soon and I dun wanna be showing any part of my insides!

    So what's your advice?

If I actually work for a fashion/style magazine I'd definitely propose the idea of having a denim column every other issue or have a "ask our resident denim guru" section in each issue for readers to send in their questions regarding denim for you dude.

Damn it must feel good to have people come to you for advice here on denim huh?

If you don't wann rock the BAPE, don't. If you wanna buy it, buy it. Simple as that. No one gives a shit about how many screens are on it, stitching, cotton weight, glitter, whatever. if you want bape, but it, if you want Lee jeans, but them. who cares.

it's a nice shop, skatething designed some good and some bad stuff and you take it with a grain of salt and a bag of cash. If you don't have the cash and doslike the brand, don't hate. Just don't go into the shp and bitch about it. Go to supreme, alife, ssur, recon, etc.

    it's all good.
