San Francisco is rediculous just like NYC...but I'll never leave because this is home.

Even at my age (quite a bit older than 20) ID checks in SF are still very tough. Welcome back!

I'm glad to chime in on this subject since I received alot of help from ST'ers on wedding suit ideas. The 3 mos. salary is a tough gauge since everyones budget is different. I suggest paying cash if you can. You can negotiate more on pricing. If you can't, try to get a low interest loan or credit line. Interest sucks!
To simply my process I 1) Got my GF's ring size! Know way I was dropping $$$$ and having to go back and have it resized! 2) set my budget and looked at various loose stones. Know the 4 C's! This will help you so much in pricing. You can go down in Carat but get better clarity. If set right, a smaller carat diamond sparkles way more than a bad clarity dinger! 3) After I got the stone, I had the setting designed for a touch of uniqueness.
Quote: Then I borrowed a temp ring from the shop to propose. Then we went back to the shop together so my wife could design the ring herself. girls are particular like that. i didn't trust myself with making that kind of choice.^^ This is a great idea. I worried for weeks that she wouldn't like my ring. Thankfully she loved it. But if in doubt M2M's idea is great
Good Luck.

I've seen alot of 4you stuff in the last few years and I've yet to see anything worth buying. I think its being marketed to the BenSherman & Modern Amusement crowd but fails because it style seems much older.

^Even I may look into the Big Sur hot springs.
For SF: As Minya noted food is abundant. If shopping in Union Square a nice lunch idea is Mocca on Maiden Lane. A few doors up from Marc Jacobs. For Dinner: endless possibilites but I live near Japantown and some spots I like include Mifune or a Suzu for ramen. While, there pick a SF Weekly and look who may be playing at the Fillmore since its right around the corner.

Been using 12 inch iBook for 2 years and it runs like a dream. Slapped 1gb ram in and garageband and all iLife apps run without fault.

^ I agree. Paris (and even neighboring Bally's) are good places to stay. If you want to save a bit, Bally's and Paris connect making Bally's decent. Mandalay, Bellagio are obvious choices if you have the means. Haven't been to the WYNN yet though. NY NY is weak. Hardrock...yeah...like the above posted...Lots of Old doods (myself included) checking out the young ladies but definitley a fun place to stay. Haven't stayed at Palms. But I have witnessed that rediculous line of people waiting to get into rain. Its so NOT worth an 2 Hour+ wait!

Nano's seem to have more selection on cases from what I saw at the Apple Stores. I like Incase. Just the simple folio leather ones.
BTW- That Stussy one is pretty cool

I posted about suit recommedations a few months back and I received very helpful responses. I'm from SF as well. My build is not muscular and wear a 40 jacket and I agree, American sizing is much bigger (As you say for fat people ) I ended getting a MTM suit in Asia since I was on vacation but I did shop around and had I not had one made, would of settled on the Ted Baker Endurance suit from their store on Grant. Its was off the rack but fell very nicely. Someone here recommended the Paul Smith Travel suit (tried in on at Saks) and it was nice, but on me it looked ok. Ok wasn't working for $975. I wish I could help out more. Best of luck.

Nice Collective seems to always put a well thought out products. If you happen to be in SF, NC has many carriers since they are local.

I've worn glasses my whole life and I've found where u shop for them to be very important. If the optician is good, he or she will make sure your face shape and features match up to the right frame thus enhancing your overall appearance. For me, I favor styles from- Alain Mikli, or Okio. If your not looking to spend a lot, Calvin Klein Eyeware has been very consistent over the years in keeping up with frame styles. Good luck on your frames search.

Hi, I'm going to San Diego for a weekend this month and wanted to get some recommendations on good bars or even clubs for a group in their late 20's? If you have an restaurant recs, post those as well! I haven't been to San Diego in YEARS so I'm pretty excited to see what the city has to offer. Thanks!

I want to thank everyone for their recommedations and for educating me on Bespoke, MTM and ready to wear. I'm really excited to start my suit search now. I feel wearing an MTM or bespoke suit for the big day would be amazing! I wish $ was no object but regardless, I'm going to explore the options since it doesn't hurt to inquire.
Thanks so much and if anyone else has thoughts just type away....

I have to attend a wedding in Sept and wanted to know if you anyone had any thoughts or opinions on Men' suits. Did I mention its my Wedding?
I live in SF and have not yet began my search. I can admit that I'm a novice suit shopper since I've worked in a casual dress setting most of my working life.
Just wanted to get some feedback on what designers some of you like or dislike. I'm willing to travel(within the US) to get my suit so NY,LA etc folks can chime in. Thanks!

^ Agree with all above. Since you'll be here 3 weeks and will probably be able to knock out most of the tourist sites (if you haven't been here before) in a few days, one thing I like doing when I travel is go to an OPEN HOUSE on Sundays. SF housing prices are REDICULOUSLY out of control but i have to say, most homes, condos for sale are Staged beautifully! Check out the diff neighborhoods, and people watch. SF is great for that! Oh and the dining is great!
Stop in Sausalito on your way to NAPA/Sonoma. See SF from the North Bay vantage point.
Have a good trip!

Also look for produced tracks by Alchemist. Alchemist's 1st Infantry album has tracks feat. Mobb Deep, Dilated Peoples etc.
