  1. What i meant "before he left arsenal, like retire from the club"

I was just joking. He actually did retire from professional level foorball at Arsenal.

This was filmed last september at a fundraiser match where he played in a team together with former icon players of Ajax. Bergkamp is currently working as a trainee coach at Ajax, managing one of the youth teams.

  2. i dont see how you got that from what i said. i just think atheists for the most part get too much pleasure in rubbing their self-perceived superiority in the face of religious people. books like that one encourage people with good intentions to act just as bad as conservative christian fundamentalists who want to shit on anyones beleifs that arent alligned with their own.

its an intellectual race to the bottom. ill take science over god myself, but i wont shove it in anyones face.

You don't need to explain yourself, as I already understood your reasoning. I will even agree with you that some atheists cross the line by unnecessary provocation. However, punching someone in the face over the title of a book he is holding, to me, is just mindless and I don't see how that's any different from torching embassies over a cartoon. I call that terrorism - using violence to force your beliefs upon other people.

  3. Ontfront is an Amsterdam based label. Designers are Tomas Overtoom (1980) and Liza Koifman (1982) - they're a couple. Tomas started out a few years ago organizing a monthly event in a small hip-hop bar called De Duivel, later moving to bigger venues in A'dam. Guests are required to wear a mask, as a reference to the name Ontfront.

Tomas later teamed up with Liza and they decided to set up a small streetwear label under the same name. The duo quickly gained a large following amongst the dutch independent fashion scene, which encouraged them to further develop into a more upscale independent fashion label. Following the success previous collections, they are now working hard to distribute their stuff worldwide.

Check http://www.ontfront.com for a list of stockists and a webshop.

  4. APC just arrived at the store, the shoes are EPIC, beautiful beautiful, but even more expensive than normal, exept for the checked sneakers, which are 150 euros.. Boots in look 3 are 319 euro's and the ones in look 11 are 365 euro's. The rest is same old APC, checked shirts, nice and simple cardigans and jackets.

I might stop by later this week. When are you there?

  5. Did the prices actually climb in real terms or has the dollar fallen relative to the Euro?

This post claims that apart from the jeans (Eur 80 -> 125), prices haven't gone up much in the last few years. The post contains a link to compare current euro prices with those in 2002.

I have to agree with freecat though. It gets harder to find good value items with every collection. And that is what APC used to be about for me.

  6. I'm pissed at the reactions you get around here for disagreeing with the list in the magazine. It's just a current list of cities that are cool to talk about. That a city can completely disappear from or suddenly appear on a list like this from one year to the next is pretty suspect. Three Asian cities - all in Japan - three Australian cities, Honolulu and Vancouver are the only cities not in Europe on a list of 25. I wonder do these people even live in any of these cities or do they all reside in Berlin, London and Tokyo?

No offense, but you evoke these reactions because you come across like a frustrated old man. I suggest you try convincing the rest of us what cities you think should be on this list. Surely this will turn into a fruitful discussion if you bring some valid arguments to the table.
