    italy :: rome :: general

    Hi, currently living in London, wondering if anyone can tell me when the winter sales start in either Milan, Rome or Florence. Also, any advice as to where to go to get the best deals (clothing, bags, shoes, accessories, etc) in these cities. I've not been to these cities before, where do you recommend that I stay for my short 2-3 day shopping trip? Thanks in advance for any advice. Cheers, G email me at [email protected] Thanks.

    stayed there for a night about 3-4 months ago. Right next to the park, recently furnished but not that great. Can tell its an old place done up... The fool doth think he is wise, but the wise man knows himself a fool. -Anatole France
  3. Would you know if there are any good websites with useful info for a new London resident? The fool doth think he is wise, but the wise man knows himself a fool. -Anatole France

    Park Hyatt is very pricey, but in the best location if you plan to see the sights. Think thats where Bill Clinton stayed when he was here. I can also recommend L'Otel from personal experience. Totally different places, depends on what you are after. Want to wake up to the best view, Park Hyatt is it. W hotel is kinda in the middle of nowhere, if you plan on walking. If you want easy access to a nice bar, the Establishment Hotel on George has nice new rooms, but can get a bit loud on fri / sat nights. Altho as tenant you get access to the exclusive bar upstairs as well as easy access to EST restaurant and the bar on the ground floor. Short walk to the Quay also. all good.

Few things I'll have to get sorted. 1. there much price difference between zone 1 & 2 tube tickets? 2. want to find a place (1bd, hopefully renovated) to rent for a couple of years. Think I can find much in zone 2 for around 220/wk? I will be working around london bridge station. 3. i've heard horror storied about food in London. Where do i go to have nice and reasonable food? ANY help would be great. Cheers G
