I think this is the place you are talking about (although I could be wrong)
Note- the lighting changes throughout the evening thus the blue colour in the photo...

I don't really have any feelings either way foR BAPE but I do have a couple of questions
How long has it been going? More to the point, how long have they been riding this "planet of the apes"thing? I mean, FUCT were incorporating that imagery into their designs when I was still in high school- i.e. pre 1995.
Just curious...

That wasn't meant to scare you!! My intention was to say that although I'm technically living in "Tokyo", I am close enough to get there as much as I want to. And by the sounds of things, you're gonna be in a reasonable location yourself so no need to worry. By the way, I'm working in a junior high school along with an extra teaching gig three nights a week.

Damn dude, sounds good if you ask me.
That's not Tokyo? Well, that's Tokyo enough for me (well, you will be closer than I am! I'm in Ichikawa on the border of Chiba and Tokyo).
Also, remember that once you have the visa then you have it and the company can't change that. If the company is not what you want then I recommend looking for something else as soon as you get here (something I wish I had done earlier).
Best of luck!

"Pharrel and Nigo should be ashamed of themselves, bringing "streetwear" to this level...it's an embarrasement to the rest of the industry..."
You can't be serious can you? As much as I don't like the clothes, I think this kind of statement is just silly. What exactly should they be ashamed of (aside from making crappy clothes tsk, tsk)? Building and running a successful enterprise? Hell, it's a business after all isn't it? You make it sound like they have commited some kind of sin against the great religion (oops, I mean industry) "streetwear". Remember it's all an image that YOU are being sold, every brand does this. The difference between this one and all the others is that it's too mainstream and therefore BUYING and wearing this stuff won't make you feel "special".

Congratulations to you!
As for being scurrrrred, hell, just suck it up and go! For all the difficulties that you may encounter, you are going to have a wicked time; well, at least I did, and still am. Anyway, if the job turns to shit then there are literally hundreds of others out there. Also, it doesn't hurt to keep your eye out for something better right from the get go ...
What are you waiting for?!

Can't say I'm a fan of Terry. Kudos to him for blowing up and all but I really don't enjoy watching his skateboarding. His style is pretty damn average... I've gotta a feeling his gonna "fall off" as fast as he "blew up"... but then again maybe not?

Am suprised (or not) no one called you one some of your tricks... Am sure topic has been flogged like a dead horse by many a skater worldwide (and am a little hesitant to bring it up againbut here goes...):
there is no such thing as a 'fakie nollie'. I think you mean 'fakie ollie'. While I'm at it, people, please, and I repeat, never call a frontside air a fronside indy. Indy is only backside or to fakie. A frontside air is a frontside air. And while I'm at it, tuck-knee only if you don't mind. No stinkbugs thankyou very much!
Have a nice day!

Not too sure if spitfire or any skate clothing company today stays in it's genre? I mean, sure skaters where it, but due to skateboarding's mainstream status these days, you'll find all sorts of people rocking it and wanting to be wearing the latest t-shirt they saw on Mtv... Not that it's any of these company's faults though is it? I mean, surely they can't control who purchases their gear (or can they?) and I'm sure that they don't mind the money that is derived from it. Let me rephrase that, I'm sure they are loving the money, I mean, it is a business afterall!
Thing is though, if skateboading does die in the arse again does that mean these companies are going to be able to scale back down and retain their original customer base of skateboarders who were rocking their shit because it was a true skate company to begin?

ok, I've gotta say that I've thought that some of what Dolo has said in the past is proverbial shite... but, in this case, as much as I hate to admit it, he does have a point!?! You wanna call him out on something? Then you had best keep it relevant to the topic otherwise he's gonna have one up on you as he does here...

FOURSTAR + spike jonez + EDIT in Shinjuku tomorrow 5/22

Meh, I went and it sucked.
Brian Anderson turned up an hour and a half late and skated around for a bit by himself until it rained. Respect to him.
Koston, Carrol, Schaaf and Gonz turned up more than two hours late and didn't skate due to rain. They just walked around and did a product toss and posed for photos- this more than appeased the Japanese fans.
Frankly, I'm pissed to have travelled to Shinjuku, waited around and then not even seen them skate.
Fuck them.
