  1. f'real? i only skip a few tracks on this disc. beats are good and cam has the best flow in hiphop to my ears. you didn't like Get 'Em Girls?

i thought diplomatic immunity 2 was weak tho. except a couple tracks most of it was wack.

that new nas is alright. shoulda made it one disc... too much filler.

  2. THE HORSE IS DEAD!!! just leave it alone already.

the first series of dunk sbs came out 3 years ago.

to contribute something to the original post i think that some of the japanese footwear brands (visvim, tas, ubiq, etc...) have some cool shoes. most of the designs are just bites but they do interesting things with materials and colorways. but they're just as expensive and exclusive as SBs.

callous has some cool shapes but up to this point i haven't really liked the colorways they've put out. this new one on their site looks DOPE tho:

  3. i like looking at the pictures in:

    FADER

    The Surfer's Journal

the magazines in the design section of the japanese supermarket like Idea... and some others whose titles i can't think of.

SI: Swimsuit Issue (Petra Nemcova is hot as fuck!)

Victoria's Secret catalog (cause Adriana Lima is also hot as fuck.)

  5. While I personally dislike LRG's earth-tone, I'm-on-a-safari aesthetic, I don't think they're gonna fall off the face of the earth anytime soon. They've found their niche, mostly underground hiphop heads I think, so unless that movement is deaded I think they'll have a market to sell too. I do respect the job they've done of building their brand though.

  6. can't really help too much w/ shops but i do remember a sneaker shop kinda near the water...

that probably didn't help. but hey, if you've never been to barcelona you MUST check out ALL things Gaudi.

  7. your in the UK right? i remember seeing Full Count in london when i was there. i'm pretty sure i saw it at Size? and Duffer...

actually, i've been meaning to ask about this label myself. any of you DENIM NUTS have any info or opinions on Full Count? from what i saw it was all high quality raw denim. i almost bought a pair but instead went with a LVC 501 cause it was on sale.

  8. yo... so i've heard it's been a pretty dry season and there isn't much snow up there. anyone been lately? is it even worth the hefty room rate and lift ticket or should i just stay in vancouver?

RingRing, how reliable is Aeroleatherclothing for their shipping and time periods. I also understand that they are selling these for 110 pounds however arent they worth roughly $700 or something like that? Thanks man

i think the ones on that site are repros... not actual vintage which would fetch the $700 price tag.

    Hey Vinc3,

How was the Bilboa Guggenheim? I've heard mixed reports. I missed seeing it when I was in Espana, I opted to go to Cordoba instead. I still regret it to this day.

yo, like i said in my other post i don't really have a critical eye for architecture so my opinion isn't exactly the most informed. but for what it's worth i think i spent more time outside the guggenheim than inside. thing was amazing to me.

  11. i dont know much about architecture or architects so my choices are probably going to be really obvious... but what the hell:

the gherkin by norman foster- because it looks like a giant dildo... and hey, thats funny to me.

the emp in seattle and the guggenheim in bilbao by frank gehry- i know, i know too obvious... but that shit is just dope

and everything by gaudi in barcelona- even more obvious, but his stuff is wild.

so yeah... that's my uneducated opinion on my favorite architecture. oh, btw, this is all stuff i've seen in person. i'll probably check out some of the people and buildings you mentioned.

  12. Quote: The whole point of my original argument was that the supreme dudes are pissed that people are using the sbs from something besides basketball. Again, you are right - I have no problem admitting that there is nothing wrong with using clothing in a manner that is different from its original intended purpose, I was suggesting that the guys that work at supreme do.

alright cool, i guess i misread your original post.

i dont even really care about the whole bad service at supreme thing at all... i was just playing devils advocate.

the one time i've been to supreme nyc it wasn't service with a smile but they weren't out right hostile either. seemed like anyother hip boutique i've been too... sometimes they offer up help and shoot the shit with you sometimes they don't. the dudes at supreme la have mostly been cool when i been there. too me the whole 'anti-service' thing is just part of what's now an artificial mystique.

  13. the recommendations are much appreciated. yeah i'm definitely checking out vancouver too. i got fam there and i've visited quite a few times so thats pretty much covered. plus i think anything new in vancouver has been mentioned on supertalk in other threads. but if there's anything you think is under the radar and is must see please feel free to recommend.

is the maxx fish over at whistler connected to the one in nyc?

i can't wait for this trip.

what if i buy dunk sbs and i play basketball in them? is that ok?

dunk sb stands for skateboarding, if you want to play basketball in them go for it, but why not play basketball in regular dunks (originally basketball shoes).

As for supreme buying into it - you are absolutely right... I was nt trying to defend them, I was merely offering insight into why they do what they do. Sorry if I offended anyone - that was not my intention.

    --- Original message by eldave04 on Jan 26, 2005 02:24 PM

    yo, i was being facetious...

but actually the hightop dunk sbs would be way better for hoop than regular dunks cause of the zoom air.

anyway, IMO there really isn't too much wrong with not using an item of clothing for its original intended purpose. SEE: camouflage anything, cargo pants, running shoes, basketball shoes, workboots, northface, track jackets, etc...
