I'm also absolutely in love with Swiss airlines. The Swissotel chain also likes nice (from what I can see in the ads). I think the new design was done by a guy from the WALLPAPER crew, if I remember correctly. I really want that pair of Swiss Converse sneakers too...

That resort sounds nice, Lil. I imagine I'll make it to Malaysia one of these days. And I'll make to avoid the Legend.

There's a Citibank ATM at Ikebukuro station also, in the basement of the Metropolitan Plaza.

Yes, it will be, but just take a cash advance from your card. You'll be OK in big stores, but when it comes to daily life (train, convenient store, etc.) don't expect to do anything with a credit card.

iPod
in supershopper
The fact that I can put so much stuff on it. That's the best thing (I have the 40GB model). I wish there was a bookmark feature. I've been getting into audiobooks lately, but if you sync it to recharge it, when you take it out again, it's not at the place where it was last (audiobooks have lots of files). I also wish the remote had a screen with info on the track playing (like on MD players). I like to listen in shuffle mode, and there's often some stuff playing that I forgot I had, and don't really know what song it is, or from what album, and to find out I need to take the iPod out of the case I use.

Anyone know if there's an official Head Porter website? Or even any site that lists all of their bags?

I went to Seoul for 2 days last Summer. Really liked the Insadong area. Check out the Do Art design shop. I bought one of these mmmg bags there (dark brown one):

I'll probably be heading back to HK sometime this Spring (hopefully), and I'm wondering if you could point to design type shops/areas in the city (or point to good resources online, like zines or whatever).

Looks like you did! What never ceases to amaze me is that even with an economy shot to hell with people losing their jobs, brands are as popular as ever, and new shops keep opening at a regular pace.

I am so jealous. I've read quite a few articles on that hotel since it's opening, and it really seems like a nice place. But cheap as I am while travelling, I doubt I'll ever stay there.

But from what I can see, it's only opening a temporary shop in Harajuku (at Foret), right?
And I'll admit that I don't check Superfuture's front page very often. As for Supertalk, I check the first two sections daily, but not the other ones (as they're not as active).
Oh well, my loss. Probably couldn't have made it anyway (coming back home from work late and all).

Looks like it was a blast. You know I hate you now for not telling me.

Article from the INTERNATIONAL HERALD TRIBUNE taking a look at the Roppongi Hills complex.

What are your thoughts on the place, now that's it been open for a while? Good, crass, design-friendly, lame, all of the above?

Is Yusoshi in the same building as Cafe Apres-midi? Or near it? Sounds nice. I think I'll be in Shibuya next Saturday, so I'll to drop by and see if can get a seat.

The bench seats in back definitely seem like a tight fit. It wasn't very busy when I went, and so I got to site at the seats on the upper left in the pic. Just had a latte, but I'll probably go again for food. I liked the atmosphere.

I hadn't heard of Jordi Labanda before your post (I googled it). Lovely stuff. I've seen his illustrations around, but never associated a name with it.

Beams News (as well as the Beams Street in Ikebukuro) are definitely not the first place to look. For starters, they never seem to change their selection. My place of choice of designer goods is Parco, on the design levels (basement of Parco Part 2 in Shibuya, 5th floor of Parco in Ikebukuro). I can spend an hour in Delfonics alone. Cibone in Aoyama is also quite nice, although there is more emphasis on furnishings. And A is definitely not very high on my list.

I like these so-called concept stores because I just don't have the time to go hunting down stuff anymore. I like that I know a select few shops where I can usually find those cool things I see in the magazines I read/browse every month. That being said, it is true that you start seeing the same things popping up at different places, but not enought to complain about it.

swiss airlines converse sneakers in tokyo

It really sucks that the shoes were so hard to get (you had to buy a pair of Converse sneakers, and then you got a ticket for a draw). That Swiss pair looks soooo nice.
