sorry no, i don't think so. to clarify, it's 70% cotton, 30% cordura nylon. the lookbook calls it "cotton/cordura twill with DWR"

also the ss18 isogon is now 50/50 cotton/nylon instead of 70/30 cotton/nylon. idk how i feel about that, i kinda liked how cotton-y and organic the isogon felt.

ok apparently the align pant, isogon, and apparat have the 50/50 composition now.

Couldn't agree more, the non-technical feel of the most recent Isogon has led it to become one of my favorite jackets. As long as its not pouring, then it's great as a shell, and I don't have to worry about taking it off indoors or feeling out of place wearing it in a bar because it doesn't 'swish' or have a technical sheen.

Guys, for those of you in NYC: was just in Nordstrom Rack Union Sq. and saw them put out a bunch of AV jackets across a range of sizes and styles,  as well as two FW Voronois (36/35). Listing what I can remember: white down Monitor; peat and blue Galvanic; black and peat Mionn Blazer and 3/4; black and grey Indisce Blazer and 3/4; Anode jacket; Mionn insulator; Node IS (2014).

Will be out of town tomor so unable to proxy for anyone, unfortunately.

Also, I'll be listing my Node IS soon (Lyra grey, small, 2014 with the two chest pockets). If interested feel free to DM.

Lot's of stuff at Nordstrom Rack in downtown Seattle as well. Is the Mionn Insulator you mention the Mionn IS jacket? Or a different piece? Would be interested in the Mionn IS if it's large and depending on the color...

Sorry, hadn't been here in a while. Blog posts to write, videos to cut ;)

I've worn them in typhoons in Hong Kong and now Osaka, made sure I splashed through the water, never had any issues.

Pic isn't even completely OT, they are combined there with the summer Voronoi pants.

How's the sizing on those? Looking for a pair of shoes for some lengthy travel (have been looking at some Salomon trail runners) and those look pretty sweet. Good for light/general hiking, or some exercise as well?

I just receive an email from arcteryx veilance warranty. They said I could take the arris jacket wich is 925$CAN . But there is no stock in size medium black. I would like to get the acrom but it's pricier than the arris. Anybody have some kind of experience with warranty return ? I don't want to pay the difference beetwen the arris and the Acrom(1300$CAN). I would like to deal with veilance service to have it for a certain price, like 100$ or maybe 150 more or something ? Can they do this, or if I want it I really have to pay the full difference beetween the arris and the acrom if I want it? Because the arris in my size and colour is not in stock.

    Thanks in advance

I'd be surprised if they're willing to negotiate on the price being anything but the retail difference. Since it's the black you're after, I'm sure they'll have it restocked at some point. I had this happen with my Nemis, they didn't have black so I just waited until they had it in stock. Not sure how much you're willing to wait though.

I think this goes hand in hand to how Veilance is the epitome of minimalist technical wear for the city and that people are willing to pay the price, take this statement with a grain of salt.

As in, the fact that Veilance seems to be as popular as ever (as prices continue to rise) only proves that it's fulfills a much-demanded niche as the premium minimalist tech wear option? This is probably true, and by moving to China they can probably produce even more garments and continue to ride their success. Maybe it's just the clothing-equivalent of being priced out of a neighborhood others can afford.

Nonetheless it's frustrating, especially when the garments themselves are so 'industrial,' i.e. it's not like it's hand-woven ultra fine cashmere, the pricing is very arbitrary (or rather, you're paying for the design/execution and god damn if it's not frustrating that no other company seems to be able to make as quality of stuff as Veilance does). Maybe it's just the market working as it should, I guess.

  6. I understand the reasons a company moves production to China, and I have no doubt they can make Veilance items just as well as the Canadian made stuff. But what I can't jive with is the already insane pricing not getting any kind of relief (let alone a likely increase) when they move production abroad. Not sure how I will feel about this going forward. Disappointing.

  7. Regarding the Mionn and Quoin series....

The Mionn IS blazer and Mionn 3/4 are essentially the same, just different in length.

So is the difference between the Quoin Jacket and the Mionn IS Blazer the insulation, and then the blazer being slightly long and with a more subdued collar and slightly different, more 'rounded' cut at the bottom? They just seem so similar, trying to discern the differences/advantages between the two.

Anyone who has had hands on experience, feel free to chime in.

  8. How much warmer is the Mionn? Looking to get either a Mionn IS Comp hoodie or a Quoin jacket for some travel where I will layer it with maybe an isogon or other clothes (I don't expect to have to face too cold of a climate or I'd bring something more intense) but like that the Quoin looks a bit sharper for wearing around town/going out.

  9. Anyone have feedback re: Frame shirt vs. Outlier's Ultrafine Merino offering? Or general comparison in Veilance sizing vs. Outlier (I'm much more familiar with Veilance stuff and how it fits, not at all familiar with Outlier).

Looking to get a couple for some traveling and am a bit worried the Frame might not be hefty enough.

And has anyone put the Isogon through its paces in a lot of rain? Love it as a casual jacket, and would love to bring one as my go to jacket since it's got great handfeel and pockets and isn't overly warm (I'll be in Asia, including SE Asia). Not sure how much wear and tear it can take, as well as how it fares for rain beyond a drizzle.

  10. Selling my Black Nemis jacket in a size Large. Brand new with tags (never worn, got a warranty replacement and decided I don't need the black and the playa, so I'm selling the black).

    $300 OBO.

Yeah, it happened to mine and at least one other person on here iirc. I posted up a picture awhile back sometime last year if you search for it.

Anyways contact arc customer service, your friend will have to send it in to them. They ended up replacing mine with a brand new one.

Same situation happened to me and my Nemis as well. They'll replace it for you.

  12. Don't have the Field Shirt for sale anymore but I have more Nordstrom credit than I want at the moment so if anyone was planning on buying something Veilance for retail (like one of the new seasons items or something) I can proxy/have it shipped to you for a slight discount.

    PM me if interested.

  13. Other than the sentiment, the only thing I care about if more pieces are being produced in China would be for some more reasonable pricing (it's already pretty outrageous what they're charging for MiCAN Veilance stuff). Doubt that will happen, unfortunately.

  14. I had the same 'bacon collar' issue on my Nemis and sent it in to be replaced but they didn't have any in the same color and size so like @metatrendr they offered me a discount of equal value on another item, but I just had them send it back instead. They said in case they have one to replace it I can call them up and ask and get it fixed, whenever that may be.

If anyone has any experience with the 'new' elastic material and can describe any differences that would be great.

  15. Is the main difference between the Align and the Arris the material and pocket configuration? The Arris being lighter weight and a bit softer to the touch with the C-Knit? And is the Align akin to the Field jacket material on the outside or more like a standard shell?

  16. The two-tone Playa looks really good in person.

Good to know, just copped one in Playa on sale after loving the black one I've worn all summer. Sculptstore in Korea has Veilance stuff roughly half off.
