  1. thanks for the info...my 2009 30s have stretched to a 32" waist. i wanted to order from rakuten but i am going to la in a couple weeks so i may just hold off until then and go to self edge to make sure i get the sizing right and take advantage of the free hemming

Take a look at the Okinawas and Hawaiis. They have the 50/50 Cotton/Sugar Cane fiber. The denim looks really nice. I was going to get the standard 47, but got the Okinawas.

I live maybe 10 minutes from Self Edge....cool shop.

  2. can someone with 2009s and 1947s give me advise on sizing a pair of 1947s? i have a pair of sz 30 2009s that are a size big, could wear a 29. thanks in advance

I just bought a pair of Sugar Cane Okinawas, which are 1947's and the tagged 36" waist measures 35.5". They are pretty close to true size. Also, my 2009's are stretched from wearing, but they were also around 35.5" when new. So if your 30" are a bit loose, try a 29" or 28" depending how loose your 2009's are and how much you feel like they stretched.

  3. washing machine at 40 an lots of ware.

    Nice....

I swear SC is underrated. Been wearing my 2009 for a month and love them. Just bought the Okinawas for the true 47 cut. Both have imho one of the best denim feel around.

  4. Sorry about the mobile phone pics. These are my 2009 after about 3 washes and 1.5 years of ware.

How did you wash those?....lot's of indigo loss.....But they look great, BTW, I am wearing my 2009's as I type this.....love these jeans.

  5. I have a pair of pair of jeans that I was told to buy 1-2 sizes smaller. I tried on a 35, but was told if I could get in a 34, I should get that. It took three weeks of hell to stretch them out 3/4"....If I could not even button them up, no fricken way would I even try to stretch them.

  6. So how accurate are the 67 505's? Just curious as all I wore from the early 1970's until the early 90's were 505's. Sometimes I wore STF 501's, but liked the 505's better. The 67 505's I just got feel different than I remember...still comfortable, just different.

  7. I picked up a pair of LVC 67 505's at a garage sale for $20. They were never worn, but only had the waist label attached. New to LVC selvage, but not new to selvage. Are all the 67 505's sanforized? The waist is correct, but I need them hemmed and would like to know which way I will go.

  8. Hmmmmm.....China! Maybe that is the newest manufacturer for APC. I bought my first pair, some New Standards at the Melrose store in LA a few weeks ago. I tried all the fits and went with the PS, which are made in Viet Nam...all the pairs I tried there were made there also. Now I know APC used to be made in Macau, which is China.

I read Jean Touitou despises the Chinese...but, maybe profit beats dislike.
