  1. Hey everyone !

I bought a Guerrilla Group pants with a water repellant treatment. Do you know what can I do to keep this characteristic for a long time ? Like do I have to wash it in a particular way, or use something special to wash it ? :o

On softshells, I just re-apply water repelant formula from an outdoor supply store.

  2. Would I look like a total Bitch if I use these as daily sunglasses this summer ?

Yes. Supposedly they're for athletes to have a constant feed of biometric data from their other wearables, but why you would attach it to your face is not clear. There's not a lot of functional benefit to that, at least that I can see.

Then if you're just going to wear them as sunglasses and completely disregard the point of the device, which is to give you a HUD of your own data, why not just wear regular sunglasses and a hat, which is more functional to your purpose?

Sorry if this is ragging on you a bit, I don't mean to come off that way; just trying to deconstruct the purpose of this item. It's not a fashion, or statement piece, but it's so obviously saying "I'm wearing something hitec and expensive" that it becomes those things, so you have to keep that in mind.

  3. Does anyone Stateside stock ETA Proof cotton? I need to repair a 2inch hole and I don't feel like buying a full yard for 40 bucks from the UK.

At that size of hole you might want to contact a provider for a sample, then use the sample. You could also, if you're patching, put a nylon or laminate layer hidden underneath an unproofed cotton layer, and use a seam-sealant under your stitches. Or, you could use regular cotton and nikwax it.

    Just as alternatives.

  4. I recently funded a Kickstarter campaign for the 'Minaal' bag. This being their second successful funding, where they released two new bags, The Carry-on 2.0 and the Daily. I actually heard about it through a blog called Zenhabits, where the writer had been testing a prototype and I really liked the look of it. It's got a ton of features, but my favourite is probably the straps which can be unclipped and tucked away in to the back rest, allowing it to be carried almost briefcase style. I've used this a couple of times when commuting to work. It's not impervious to rain, but comes with a really nice quality rain cover, which tucks down really small, and it has a lot of interior pockets, Nylon water bottle carrier, and even (wait for it...) a whistle built into one of the straps. It's got a really secure velcro-ed area for Laptops, my 13" Macbook Air fits really snug.

The back pad doesn't look very comfortable. How is it with a travel-ready load?
