  1. The fit on the 21bsp and the ST jeans are very different.  The 21BSP has a bit more taper from the knee down and the top block is very different.  The ST cut's top block is slightly boxy and modern where as the 21bsp's waist tapers in a bit.

And about the fabric, Young nailed it above, they're quite different in feel, weight, and weave.

Thanks for the help.  I didn't take in to account how much they shrink.

It looks like based on the SE measurements for 21bsp I would probably have to size up at least 1 from my normal ST size.  Does that sound right?  I have a 30 right now in the st-120x and they're pretty tight so I imagine a 32 would work.  Wish I could try them on in person!

  2. The 21bsp is slim tapered and should be very close to the measurements of the ST fit after the initial soak.  Construction wise, most of the details are similar. I like the patch better on the 21bsp and the hardware details better on the Kibata.  Kibata will be around $100 cheaper but that's not a huge issue for me considering how much I'll end up wearing the pair I get.

Biggest thing it comes down to for me is the fabric.  It looks like both are going to produce some very deep 3d high contrast fades.  I'm leaning towards the 21bsp because I've wanted a heavyweight pair for a while now.

I wish there was some way to get a side by side of the fabrics.  It's hard to tell the true color of the Kibata based on the greenish filtered Hypebeast article photos.

  3. My combs look like trash on my 120x because the creases change every time I wash them

Happened to me but only on one leg.  I think it had to do with using the washing machine.  I cold soaked them and they stayed the same.

ARG, I want mine back.  It's been 2 weeks so hopefully they'll come soon.

  4. Figured I'd join in here since check in is tomorrow.  Looks like some stiff (haha) competition based on the previous posts.  8 Months/1 Wash

  5. @kcrunner. Did you size up 1 for the jacket?

I did not.  If it helps, I have the RgT Supply Jacket in the same size.  The RgT is 20.5 chest and the 3sixteen is 19.5-20ish.  It's a little snug in the chest but I think it will stretch out.  The biggest difference is the slimness of the arms.  T-shirts are fine and my 9.5oz think oxford shirt have no trouble layering under it.  I don't think I could wear a thick sweater/hoodie with it.  If you're planning on doing much layering you should probably size up.

Here are my 3sixteen st-120x at 7 months with no wash and no soak.  They are getting really soft now and as a result are forming some pre-blow out spots.  I fixed one tear using denim from the original hem.  There don't appear to be any other signs of blowouts forming but only time will tell.

since this is my one and only boots, do any of you guys have tips on how to treat and take care alden 405 like spesific boot cream, leather conditioner, etc?

    thanks

Definitely invest in Venetian shoe cream and a large horse hair brush.  You can get it all on Amazon for around $30.  The cream is a neutral color so it won't darken the white stitching and will also not darken the leather.

I found this youtube tutorial helpful:

  8. Those of you with well worn ST-120x, how much overall stretch are you getting in the waist...1", 1.5", 2"?

I'm really liking the fades some of you are getting with the shadow denim.

I got 2 full inches but I would seriously not recommend it.  It took a good 2 full months of every day wear.  If I did it again I'd plan on closer to 1 inch.

  9. Just got my Railcar Spikes X016 16.25 oz selvedge in.  These were my prize for second place in the Railcar RDCX013 contest.  Can't wait to start breaking these in.
