Trying the outfit again but instead of wearing it in a fun special way for a show we were performing at toned it down for my normal work outfit.

    Stussy Hat

    Stussy Shirt

    PRC cardigan

    Elephant 3 Naked and Famous

    Nike SB Dunk HIgh's.

Plain white Aperture Hoodie sorry for the sunglare

I personally am not one for brand popularity otherwise I don't think I would still be wearing Stussy or Nike SB considering the "hypebeasts" people keep referencing think these things are lame and have been for the last several years.  When I worked towards my first degree in photography I was really inspired by stussy lookbooks that my friends in the industry had and started looking into them as a brand since I liked the work and type of photographic composition they put together for their themed look books at the time and then started looking into the brand and as a skater and surfer from Japan and the Philippines originally I really liked the brand as a whole and stuck with em since.  That kind of mentality continues over to many but not all the things I wear like the cardigan that you see relatively often as a staple in my wardrobe which is made by PRC which is made by a friend of mine here in my American home town.  Before I was into raw denim I was into sneakers which my sister got me into first with Nike SB which I thought were creative and well put together and still the primary focus of my sneaker collection.  De la soul being the theme of the yellow sneakers were musical heroes to me as a kid as a skater and graff/writer/bomber whichever term you'd prefer so naturally the kicks appealed to me and I wanted to get them and find some way of styling them.  I feel like I'm getting put on the defensive for my one loud and different outfit that was an attempt to do something new and fun for one of our shows that were doing but I thought I'd once again just share some mindset and ideology behind why I wear the things I do  and did in that specific case to help filter and provide more constructive and accurate criticism while still trying to avoid seeming arrogant or cocky by not changing wearing the things I do but still listening on better ways to style them and as stated perhaps not all together at once which was an experiment that kinda flopped and can be moved on from.  Thanks all for reading and sorry for the time it took to read it all haha. :)

Like you all suggested trying using less skinny jeans to style these and pair things with a more subdued outfit.

  2. I generally like the community better here since people seemed to give better advice here on how to actually style pieces as opposed to the hypebeast mindset which is more trolly and less constructive I'd say.  I just would like that opinion of sufu to stay true and keep being constructive is all.  No offense or pity party intended rant over. Sorry all! :)

  3. Karasu, don't sweat the neg reps dude we just wish we were young and skinny again

I just don't understand why its usually the same people but don't give any feedback on improving the look or criticism why they don't like it so i can share my ideas behind it to see if any improvement can be made.

  5. Kinda hardcore choice for warmer climate and/or summer in general. Are you okay with them?

They actually aren't too warm, I was even able to wear them during EDC week in Vegas for the festival! that was their initial break in period. Also I live in Seattle Washington so its not too hot here yet and actually pretty chilly at night. :)

Stacks settling, getting happy with their overall look :). Now if they would only settle with the high tops I don't wear at work where the leg opening is too narrow to tuck in the tongue and rest of the shoe like jordan's or other sneakers of the like unlike these nice slim leather sk8-highs from vans vault this season.

  7. Karasu... I'd recommend losing all your hats and getting a haircut. I think it'd look a lot better!

So trying to reconnect with my Japanese heritage on my dad's side our family has cultural tradition in which I can't quite cut my hair yet until the next phase in my engagement with my fiance which unlike standard engagements have 3 or 4 separate phases depending if you count the bachelor/bachelorette celebration as a phase of its own as some members of my family do consider it, hence the grow out over the past few months.  Secondly the hats I rotate between I like a lot due to my own personal aesthetic in which those appeal to me as a more classic streetwear look that some might find tacky, lame, or hypebeasty however as I previously stated I find classic and have been trying to find more contemporary ways of styling.  They also have very specific sentimental value.  I appreciate the feedback and just thought I'd include this because I don't want my continuing tradition of wearing my hats that don't agree with your guys' ideal aesthetic or cutting my hair quite yet as cocky or arrogant and rather explain my ideas and method to my madness so to say.  If you guys have any suggestions onto what makes the hats look bad or how to style them better to make their look tolerable I'd love to hear them! You guys are also entitled to your opinion and can continue to hate them and share your feelings about em.  Sorry if this was unnecessary explanation but as I said I just wanted to try and avoid seeming like I don't utilize constructive criticism or  anything like that. Thanks for your time!

Simple warm Spring day outfit, trying the new smaller cuffs with more stacking you guys recommended. Excuse the crappy pic, snapped it quick in between classes in the lecture hall.

    -Moss New York hat

    -Weekend Offender shirt

    -Invicta watch

    -Naked and Famous Jeans

    -Vans Sk8-hi shoes

  10. When you say a smaller cuff with stacks do you mean a small thick cuff with the same amount of stacking here or less or a thin small cuff with more stacking or fold once more and keep the cuff size to remove all the stacking? I'm worried about disrupting the fading already taking place but I'm also wondering if I just remove the cuff all together the stacking will be too much. But out of those options which would you think work best? Thanks again for helping me figure this out. Overall figuring out how to style these guys has been a challenging part of getting these as a present from the missus.

how is the fit on these elephant3s weirdguy.  Initially I was dissappointed I didn't get a skinny fit by not sizing down enough but I believe this is a pretty decent slim fit. I'd love to hear what y'all think to whether or not this is a decent looking fit or if the cuff is too big.  I wanted a decently big cuff with just a little stacking to get a few stack fades and was hoping it didn't look too wonky. Thanks in advance.

PS the cuff is the same in both pics just different perspective.

Just been working on breaking in this pair my fiancé and sister got me for Christmas. Can I get some opinions on the fit? Excuse the pic was looking for a carhart jacket for my fiancé's brother's bday.

  13. If the momotaro is just barely out of bus

If the 3sixteen pair is out of budget by just a bit too much do you have a heavyweight but not necessarily heaviest alternative? Not looking for the heaviest but the closest to my ideal fit but if the elephant 4s are my best bet I'll go for em. Love to hear more suggestions guys. Also if I do end up going for elephant4s should I size down 1 more than I did on my 3s for the fit I'm looking for or go for the skinny guys? And if the skinny guys how should I size on em? Thanks again in advance!
  14. Hey all, currently have tried Nudie Thin Finn, APC PS, Unbranded Tapered, and am currently working on a pair of Naked and Famous Elephant 3 weird guys, I got a size 29 and it turned into a pretty decent slim tapered fit but I was hoping to find a skinnier but still tapered pair of raws, Looking at Blue Owl since it's near my house and was thinking of going in once I have an idea of pairs I want to try. Have a budget of 250ish give or take. Been thinking of the elephant 4 in either a smaller weird guy size like a 28 for a tighter fit or maybe even the skinny guy if that would be what I'm looking for. Currently looking for heavier denim since majority of my collection thus far has been either light or mid weight. I'd love to hear your guys's suggestion on specific pairs and sizing for them based on the current selection at Blue Owl. Also on a side note recommendations for the same kind of fit but light or mid weight to rotate between when weather requires it in the upcoming brief season of warmness. It's a secondary priority however but would still love to hear your input. Thanks in advance all!

PS I'm willing to try new brands or not, just looking for the best pair for what I need.
