  1. I'd second the N&F recommendation. Price-wise, they're fairly competitive (if she's 13, she's gonna grow out of 'em, maybe in as little as a year or so) and fit-wise, they're bloody tiny, so that shouldn't be an issue - 24s should work, if you aren't able to get 23s.

Those, which I think are what we're both talking about, are a straight fit, so puritans don't have to worry about them being too figure-hugging, and also the little stretch means that when she's off doing kid stuff like running around and climbing trees and whatnot, they're going to be comfy. Sure, they're maybe not as 'pure' a raw denim as some of the other choices, but I think they're pretty practical without making too many compromises.

  2. Nice!  Just copped on sale as well! Would prefer to support my local Oakland shops but thanks

...appreciate it, man. We actually ploughed through our Tender inventory really quickly this season, so have very little left at this point, aside from a few tee shirts and a couple pairs of denims.

Woad dyed butterfly shirt with striped sleeves - probably could have gone down to a 3 in this one, to be honest. Also, my morning ritual here at the shop:

  3. you guys have more of those at Standard/Strange?  Ive been eyeballing that for a hot minute

I'm afraid not - this one was a personal pickup. Think Unionmade has a couple, though.

    For reference, I'm 6' and 185lbs, and this is a size 4.

  4. Hey William - give me a few days and I'll see what I can do. I may also use an actual camera this time, rather than just taking some hasty iPhone shots.

  5. Just picked up this lambswool sweater, to go along with my various other Tender bits & bobs:

...and I guess I now have a new favorite jumper.

Also, as I manage a Tender stockist, I just got the chance to look over the FW15 linesheet to make our buy for the season and, I have to tell you all - whilst I'll leave it to William to show & tell when the time's right - it's pretty fucking stellar. There's a lot of size 4s in that seasonal buy that will never see the shopfloor, because they'll be coming home with me.

  6. Thanks. Is it brushed inside? Heaver weight than say a j crew or uniqlo flannel?

Heavier than my wife's Uniqlo flannel - never owned a J Crew one, so can't comment on that.

Not brushed on the inside, but it's not a super rough fabric.

  7. Anyone have experience on RS&C flannels? I really like the black/white/scarlet one.

The Plainsman? I own one - what would you like to know?

Fit: I'm 6', 185lbs and wear a large. It's a little boxy, but I like it that way. I tend to rock a tee under my flannel shirts most times.

Fabric is pre-washed, so shrinkage is minimal. I really didn't notice any at all after a 40* wash and hang-dry.

It's fairly heavyweight, but not to an Iron Heart degree.

  8. I have the Linemans - I wear an 8.5 in the Alden Indy (TruBalance), 8.5 in most Red Wings, and I picked up a 9 in the Rising Sun boots. They fit great, although I do use an insole in all my boots. I could also wear them with no insole and a thicker boot sock and they fit fine that way, too.
