  1. I got my voronoi hemmed.  I had kept the extra cutting to conduct my own stress test.  The fabric is fully dwr and does a good job when new or just washed.  Abrasions on the fabric disrupts the DWR and allows water to soak in.  When soaked and wet, the fabric rips really easy.  Abrasions also causes the fabric to change color( white tint) and become shiny.

There is a stretch in the fabric.  Its a very tough material with a soft feel

Nothing last forever, things will eventually break down with physical contact.  But I think the seam tape may first peel off with washing ( temperature changes ...? the glue unsticks from the fabric....the seam tape of my shirt sleeve peeled of after 1st wash and minimal wear.

But once the seam tape rips off the pants...the microseam joints can be easily ripped apart.

  2. Also on the future of veilance... are they moving production to overseas? When? does mean more products in their veilance line up.  It would be cool to start seeing the shells in other fabrics - Wool, rip stop, fleece.  Normal fabric with advance patterns & articulation.

I got an idea :  Wool Blend Patrol IS is different colors

  3. I've noticed having longer sleeves on the jackets has been a positive.  When I layer up a shell and bend my arm all the way, there is alot of tension, stretch and resistant at the elbow.  Overtime I'm not sure if it will be a problem but stretching gore tex makes me worry.

  4. I got a Monitor LT is Small.  The measurements state size 38 chest.  The actual Fit is a bit larger and loose. I Think its meant for layering and wearing into the winter.

My biggest regret is getting a Patrol IS in M instead of S because at the time the fit of small was too tight.  But i realize the tightness was due to the stiffness of the thick insulator full of air and firmness of the fibers.  Over time, the insulator jackets get compressed and allows more room.

As a rule for AV.  Always get the slimmer and more fitted SIZE for your jackets.  These jackets are made to look good and feel great.

  5. I got a actutor in M, which is still great and allows room for the insulator and other stuff.

The Sleeves come down to the ends of my fingers.

I tried on an actutor in S, which is more slim fit and my true size, which i wouldn't wear anything thicker than a fleece underneath.

The sleeves are still long and come down to past my knuckles.

I feel a XS would fit and look exactly like the models and photos on the website.  But The restrictions on the chest and shoulders would scare me, as the seem may rip or something.

Also the size of the hood were different to compensate the lenght of your neck & different size of your head.  the hood of the M was way too big for my head, The S is a bit off.  Although with a toque, the S would be fine.

  6. I think a fit that is comfortable and unrestrictive would be best.  If you wear it skinny fit or slim or loose, the beauty of the jackets are seen, while in motion and under the harsh environments its made for.

Its also great that the interior of the gore tex is shinny and metallic, which makes it feel more technical and futuristic.

I had a big issue with sizing of the jackets.  The Sleeves were too long, wrinkled and didnt hang loose like the photos.  But When it came to layering, the more room was better.  The Unrestrictive fit with insulators and fleece underneath them felt more natural.

  7. Littlest Senpai:

I have the IS Patrol in size Medium ( which i regretted not getting it in S).  The S looks better in the mirror but the M was more comfortable & provides more coverage.   The fit is not snug and the length of the arms and jacket is much longer, thus covers 80% of my thighs.  The Jacket is VERY Light weight and the insulation really holds in heat.  I live in Toronto and used it on days of -20 Degrees with a thin thermal Layer.  The Jacket is windproof as you'll the wind slip right around the shell.  The insulator does over heat if your indoors.  As for pocket configuration: This jacket has the best pocket set i've experienced soo far.  you get the Two in Front, chest inside & Outside, wrist pocket, & the hugh document poucn pocket underneath.  The insulator also provides you with 4 extra pockets.  The most expensive jacket I have but the one I'll love the most!

P.S.  I still want to get one in size S in the near future, probably a later version of it in the next few yrs.
