1. RHxPBJ_social%2000000002_zpssdue5t7t.jpg Our first collaboration with Pure Blue Japan combines the ever popular slim tapered fit with a substantial 24 oz. version of the X011 jean with a grey weft and left hand twill weave. The indigo dyeing processes of PBJ are a closely guarded secret but we can guarantee both an exceptionally slubby deep indigo fabric and a pair of faded jeans over time that are truly remarkable. This jean is limited in numbers and we have seen huge interest. We are making it available by pre-order and expect delivery in late September. http://rivetandhide.com/brands/pure-blue-japan/pure-blue-japan-rhxpbjx011-24oz-jean-pre-order.html

Should we size these 24oz exaclty like we would the regular 011/013s? A 33 fits me perfectly in this cut (for the 14oz)

Edit: oops sorry just read the sizing blurb on the website. Please ignore

  2. xx-007s.   2nd pic's color seems more accurate.

Related question -- how do folks size xx-011s vs. xx-007s?  Saw an earlier post that recommended a SD1 (the thighs seem bigger for a given tagged size), but just curious what your experiences have been.

  3. Thanks for posting the contest.  I'm sure everyone who reads this thread is aware, but to state the obvious the 007/012 fabric is amazing.  (A bit sad I won't take part in the contest, but I'm having trouble convincing myself to own 2 pairs of the same denim in different cuts).

@Artisandenim "i'm pretty sure it's a Marmite cut for most" - help me English .. this means good?  or bad? strongly divided?

  4. Max -- I don't have any inside information or anything, but when I was looking for the 007s last year I remember this was the case. I believe they just have small runs and if enough time passes the popular models / sizes are hard to find.

Edit: places like BiG should have a good estimate of when to expect a restock

  5. Just got my PBJ xx-012's. I'm a pretty disappointed that I may have to pass them up. I was told that they were way too loose in the top block, but too tight in the thighs for a hot soak. They are size 30 raw. Could you guys tell me what you think?

Man, even for pre-soak that top block looks pretty ridiculous and seem to belong to a person with a completely different body.  IMO the shinkage won't get you close enough to a wearable pair of pants.

It's hard to tell, but you seem to have room in the thigh, so I'd try sizing down at least 1.  Otherwise, I think the 009s are a fuller cut with a taper.

  6. @trisjohan If that's post soak and your thighs/balls feel okay, then I think the fit is fine. That said the top block seems be a bit tight, and for me the thighs only stretched a little on the 14oz.

I also like the stacks, though I seem to be in the minority.

  7. I have a quick question for the folks with 24oz ... how manageable is this if you're spending like 9+ hours a day in an office building heated to ~73F ?  I'm a bit curious especially now that winter is rolling around.  plus they look pretty sick

  8.

I wore mine hard for a week straight and they loosened up quite a bit. Almost to raw measurments

Cool -- thanks for the input.  Mine are still smaller than the raw measurements on big, so i'll keep at it.

  9. Hey all.

There are my PBJs 007s after 8 wears.  I bought them once washed.  Ehhhh, their still pretty tight in the top block (esp around the pocket area when i sit) but the thighs are more bearable than on day 1.  Do you guys have any thoughts on whether or not these continue to stretch?  I'm thinking about giving them about 30 wears before making any decisions, but I hope I didn't overestimate the stretchage.
