  1. Does anyone know were I might be able to get a small piece of shell cordovan? I would love to get some Horween since they are in my home town but they wont sell direct to me. all I need is a small scrap, like maybe 6"x6". Any ideas on where I may be able to find a small piece?

Might be a bit late but The Tannery Row (Horween's smaller outfit) should be able to sort you out with some #8 or Black Shell Cordovan chips (under .75 square feet). Email [email protected] and she will help you out.

  2. Wish we could get this active again! Though I probably follow most of the active leatherworkers on Instagram already.

  4. A few new acquisitions.

Horween #4, #8 and Navy. I plan on doing a bigger write up comparing Horween, Shinki Hikaku and Clayton. Unfortunately Comipel is a little too expensive to get shipped to the U.S. so I'll have to leave that out for now. I already have quite a few projects lined up for the #4 and Navy.

All of them are incredibly hard to photograph so the #8 and #4 end up looking the same in the pictures.

  6. I started to put together a resource for all things related to leather working. Resources include leather suppliers, hardware suppliers, thread suppliers, and patterns. I'm hoping it can become a living/comprehensive list that can help people out. Let me know if you want to contribute!

  7. These look extremely clean, great design, what leather is that on the first one?

It is Wickett & Craig Chestnut English Bridle.

For the inner slots of wallets, how are you guys doing the bottom of the inside pocket? Stitch?

Yes - you stitch the "inner" pocket to ONLY the interior piece of the bifold and it is 'T' shaped.

  8. Here are a few things I worked on recently.

First project: Horween Shell Cordovan Outer. Horween Horsehide Natural CXL inner.

Second project: Four slot Clayton Navy Shell Cordovan wallet with black painted edges.

Third project: A timber CXL moleskin notebook cover.

  9. After having viewed all 130+ pages of the old thread and all 10 of this one, I decided to post some of my own creations. I started leatherworking about a month ago after having decided I had no cool or beneficial skills that involved my hands.

The dark leather is Horween Chestnut Dublin and the other is just some standard 3/4 oz vegetable tanned leather.
