I'm looking for some pictures of fades from natural indigo hank dyed jeans. Anyone have any or can point me toward some? I'm thinking of breaking out my pair but was hoping to see some examples before I started.
Thanks!

Just wanted to pop over here and say thank you to everyone as well. Thanks to the judges and thanks to everyone that posts pics, I love seeing people in their denim. I don't have a lot of pictures of myself because I'm almost always rolling solo. But I do love the journey.
cander49: you had an amazing pair of jeans, I find it amazing you were able to hold them together the entire time, you surely did shred them.

Man everyone is off to a fast start!
Those jean collections make me a little jealous.
I'm with you summer, the thigh is going to be a close call. I'll find out Friday hopefully. And I forgot to bring a couple back up pairs so if these don't fit I get to ride up to SENY. Also you have a fantastic fit imo

Kiya, I seemed to have lost my hat. I bought it at SE Portland in Nov of 11. It had no tags on the outside and one that was stitched into the basically top of the cap that the lettering was in a gold like thread. Do you which hat I had? Do you have it in stock? I need that hat again.

Possibly an engineer boot?

I need to page through this thread... but looking for ideas on boots.
I am looking for a round toe, no toe cap, brown boot. No speed hooks, no double outer stitching (like on whites), no Redwings, no OakStreetBootmakers.
I could possibly go with a plain toe cap, but I don't care for all the ornamentation that generally goes with it.
Thanks for the ideas!

Oct 14 - My sister was pregant with her first child, I decided to make him a quilt
Nov 14 - There is a reason little old ladies make quilts, they have nothing but time.
I think the only concert I saw in those two years - Trevor Hall (I went to the syphony once, no pics though)
Dec 14 - Quilt done, wow they take a lot of time. I hand stitched the entire thing, hand pieced, hand quilted, hand everything, it never touched a machine, turned out pretty good.
Jan/Feb 15 - Vacation - Friends house in Cali
Friends place in Mexico
A place to buy tequila in Mexico, the place was 95%+ tequila, it was probably the single greatest store I've visted in my life (I love tequila, I got away with only buying 8 bottles, which I thought was good)

Wow two years has been a long time, here is my favorite pictures/moments through the last couple years. I've done so much more, but I take so few pictures, I really should do more
April 13 - It all started here: Cape Cod, MA
July 13 - That didn't last long, moved to: Baltimore, MD
Nov 13 - On vacation somewhere out west in the middle of no where
First time in Seattle, WA
2nd largest bonzi garden just south of Seattle, WA

The crotch area is the only place that had any work done to it over the two years. The bright yellow thread is some hand stitching I did to reenforce that area. You can see a could thin areas that need to be taken care of but this area and a couple where my pants swish is the only real damage

So Minnesota is pretty fickle in the spring. The day after my ride it went from mid50s to the low 20s, this past week was teens and we got 8 inches of snow or so. It got up to 39F today so I figured it was a good day for a riding again for 2nd wear on the jacket.
Now I love MN and the cold, but I hate being cold. This picture is pretty much half my winter wardrobe, with being on the rode so much I don't have a lot, just need stuff that works.
So in the picture:
Heavy leather gloves, Smart wool socks, IceBreaker long johns, Minus33 long johns, Iron Heart jeans, Oakstreet Bootmakers Black Trenchboots
IceBreaker heavy wool shirt (size small, body is snug, arms are 4 inches short but it's a base layer, Minus33 turtleneck, Icebreaker wool shirt, 3sixteen hoodie, Iron Heart lined jacket, neck thing I pull over my ears, and a wool hat from SE
All this makes for comfortable riding in the 30s
Normally instead of the hoodie and IH jacket I wear a Patagonia vest and then have a hard shell over a soft shell insulation jacket for outside. Layers come on and off as tempature dictates.

Already starting strong so I figured I should get off my lazy butt...
Took the motorcycle to the shop on a trailer a week ago, the last ride of the season was a 350 mile round trip ride to SENY to buy this jacket, when I arrived in NY my bike had decided it wasn't going to start anymore, so after having to push start it a few times I made it home and it was put away. A new starter switch module and a new set of tires leads to the first ride and the season and my first amnesty wear on the jacket. Jacket is the blanket lined indigo riders jacket by Iron Heart

From the looks of it the Medium in the 3sixteen hoodie should actually be perfect under that jacket. The large will be a bit too baggy if you're trying to wear it under a denim jacket, especially one that's lined.
Will the hoodie shrink when washed? How much? Fit currently is perfect if there is no shrinkage, but if there is any I might need to consider a large.

Ordered! Thanks kiya, the sleeve length scares me but I'll give it a shot, it's exactly what I'm looking for!

This is me in the Iron Heart indigo blanket lined riders jacket size 38, what size of those black 3sixteen hoodies would work best under that? Large? I'm always concerned about sleeves being long enough and the body/chest being too big because of my bean pool status, this jacket fits about as good as anything probably ever will. Thanks

So, 23 months update, vacation was good.
So a few pictures and a time lapse of packing.
Skydiving is the fun part, packing is the work that gets you the fades

Bunch of awesome looking jeans on this page!
you know - there are a lot of excellent pairs on this thread - but i gotta say that my personal fave is fanya's, which has always looked insane. achieving that level of contrast without any holes in the combs or stacks is crazy. anyone know if he's a never-wash or a wash-all-the-time denim enthusiast?
I soak them while I enjoy a nice hot shower Probably got 30ish soaks or so. I do one every week, two max when I'm working, it's 2-4 during the off season depending on wear and laziness on my part

Bunch of lovely pairs going on above me.
I love comparison photos. MMBs just got another soak yesterday on to celebrate the first day of the year, they also needed one badly. The worn 23oz need another washing too, but another time.
top - 23oz, bottom - MBBs
top to bottom - worn 23oz, unworn hankdyed drybones, unworn 23oz, MBBs47

Thanks!
I'm just looking for anything with age to see a variation from new. I know hank dyed won't age into high contrast fades. I'm thinking of actually using a traditional machine wash and dry approach with these. Blasphemy I know.
