With apologies for the photo spam...but as with others before this is likely to be the last showing of my contest jeans. So...
253 wears and 8 washes later, here they are...my Oni 527ZR at the end of the DWC. I truly love the way they’ve faded (particularly as the weft colour has come through). Sadly though I fear it may not be long until the arse gives way.
I'll soon replace the 527s in my rotation - more Oni, but this time the no-arc version of the 546 NIGR (Natural Indigo) jeans. Again these weigh in at 20oz, but will be my first foray into unsanforized denim…wish me luck!

After a very long absence...
Heavyweight division, Oni 527ZR
Apologies for the shitty images, I'll get something better up before the contest ends.

OP - Great detail pics mate, some nice vintage style wear appearing on your lap.
Cheers dude, I really like the spots where the denim's wearing away like on the pockets.

Hey there Heavy Champs, HC-SF-40 here with a little eve update, its been an awfully long time hasn't it. The MBBs still have a way to go, I've not been wearing them a lot recently...primarily due to some Oni 511 HM that jumped into my arms in Hinoya. I suspect once the snows arrive the MBBs will regain their rightful place. Anyway, hope you enjoy the pics.

Randomly I know that Shinichi Haraki (the founder of Iron Heart) was born in Hiroshima...... not sure how this helps you though
Yebbut...you were going to mail me some addresses dude

I spent a year in Kanazawa around 7 years ago. Wasn't crazy into denim at the time, so can't comment on that, but I do remember that on Tatemachi walking street (a cobblestone street that juts out from the main drag next to the McDonalds downtown) there are a number of vintage and clothing shops. Not much help, I know. If you want food recommendations I have plenty of those though!
Awesome, thanks man...food recommendations would be gratefully received

Yeah, that's a good plan, that's how I got sorted for Kyoto and Tokyo on my first trip. Strike Gold don't seem to list their domestic stockists any more (just online), will have a look at the other usual suspects.unfortunately i haven't been to those hiroshima and kanazawa. what you could do though is have a search on any specific brands youre looking for and see if they have shops in the area. from there you'll work your way through other brands.

Hey Heavy Champs, I'm still being a lame-ass with updates on here but I'm still hoping you'll share some information with me if you have it. I'm about to head for Japan and was wondering if there are any good shops to hit up in Hiroshima or Kanazawa. I'll also be going to Tokyo and Kyoto but have my plans for those spots sorted. Any ideas or abuse welcome.

Thank you kindly sir, its the touch of Megatron that makes me smile

I think I had a hand in the jeans too........looking great overall sir.
Edit: Obviously not literally a hand in your jeans, that would be inappropriate.
So basically, you dressed me...well I guess that's OK but you keep your damn hands to yourself!

Looks superb on you Alex, thank you for sharing
No worries dude...you'll notice a sweet pair of boots as well!

Hi folks, a few fit pics of the Trophy N-1, size XL (42 on the label). I'm about 183cm and weigh 95kg (or more after Christmas). There are more shots here. The sun must've been in a weird spot, it looks like I have less hair than desirable and I'm sure that's not the case .

HC-SF-40 in MBBs reporting in for duty after being AWOL for months.
OK, so I realise how completely weak I've been at providing any kind of evo update...last post was in August so I'm ready to be tarred and feathered! Anyway, here are some shots taken today, I've lost count of the number of wears but I know I'm two washes in. The focus is a bit crappy on these shots, must be the hangover.

penfold. what medium format do you use? i use a small format canon av-1. ektar is a really good film. though i still prefer the old agfa films which are hard to find.
mega. i have this very urge to do both challenge 1 and 2. though of course not concurrently. hahaha.
I have way too many cameras, for medium format I have two Zero Image pinhole cameras, a Chinese 6x18 pinhole camera and a Bronica SQ-Ai kit (which I will probably sell). I generally shoot colour film, either Kodak Ektar or Portra, or Fuji Reala (which is being discontinued). There are some modern Agfa films, although most seem to be made by other companies.

HC-SF-40 in MBBs checking in for challenge 2, with something a little bit different. One of my passions is pinhole photography so here is a shot of me on top of a military pillbox on the north Norfolk coast. I obviously moved a little during the exposure (about 3 seconds). For those that care, the shot was made with a Zero Image 6x9 medium format camera on Kodak Ektar...if you want to see more shots then I have lots here (there are also regular shots on my main Flickr page).

HC-SF-40 checking in with some evo pics, sorry I've not posted to a while and extra sorry for the crappy iPhone shots, which was the only camera I had at the time. These were shot after about 75 wears, although most of those will be evening only.
I took the shots when I went for my first sea swim of the year off the North Norfolk coast in the UK. The sea was flat calm and a pretty decent temperature (probably about 16 degrees celsius). I guess this kinda works for my contest entry but I should have some more interesting shots just before the deadline.

Cap arrived today in the UK, thanks guys.

Announcement
It is with immense frustration and disappointment that I must announce that the sponsorship of The Denim Vault has been withdrawn from the HWDC2.
The reason behind this is that we have quite a few contestants (myself included) who have not yet received their sponsor tees, I have personally been promised the tracking numbers for the shipments by Vincent twice, and he has also ignored approximately 11 further emails asking for information about what is happening. If I cannot trust a sponsor then I cannot work with them.
I am extremely sorry to all those members who have not received their shirts, and to those who had errors made with their order. I advise you to seek a refund using the following email address...
If you have no luck with this then please use the Facebook and Twitter accounts of The Denim Vault to ask directly, and failing that please begin a Paypal dispute for the payment.
If after a period of weeks we have not reached a satisfactory conclusion of refund, please contact me and I will refund you from my own pocket in the order contacted, and as my personal funds allow. If we have to take this final option then I am afraid that the second HWDC meet in San Francisco may be in jeopardy, as I simply will not be able to afford it.
Once again, my most sincere apologies. Can I ask that we keep the discussion on this to a minimum, if you have any further questions please contact me directly.
Mega
Times are tough for a lot of people without something like this and Mega...you shouldn't be out of pocket for this; it definitely isn't your fault!
I for one would be happy to donate to a HWDC fund to help anyone who hasn't had their order.
