  1. I have one of the Japanese Leathercraft books and it is great if you are a visual learner (unless you can read it). I think its great to examine other people's processes and possible work parts into your own. They dont come with patterns but they do give you a breakdown of what pieces are in a project and their sizes in mm.

Question for anyone who has read those books -- Do you know what the leather conditioner they always apply in the beginning is?

Are you talking about what they put on the flesh side and then rub with the glass burnisher? Isn't that gum tragacanth to smooth the texture of the flesh?

  2. I was thinking of ordering a stitching punch from them, I don't really like the craftool one I have and heard the Japanese ones are better. Is there any difference between the Seiwa and the Craft sha? Any other tools you guys like from that site?

  3. Hello, I'm new to the forum. Love the leather work.

I was lucky enough to get an ipad for the holidays. Here's my first attempt at an ipad case in natural carving leather. This leather is dry stuff, and it doesn't hide anything when you are working on it, Is there something people use to clean spots off it? Should I oil it? Any reccomendations on what to use?-KP
