  1. A silly question, but especially for anyone who has experience with Moto: I noticed their shoe sizes range between half a size. I'm looking at the engineer in 9.5, which is listed as 27.5-28 cm. I assume that these actually measure 28 cm?

I wear a 10E in Red Wing boots, which technically is 28 cm; does anyone reckon the Moto would work for me? If not, all's well, I'll probably just go with White's Nomad. Thanks in advance!

I've the steer hide engineer boot ordered direct from Moto last year. I wear 8E for  the RW moctoe and chose the same size for the Moto. Lengthwise it fits almost perfectly except for some mild heel slip unless I wear a thicker sock. I don't know whether I can size down 1/2 as the Moto feel like a D width. So size 9.5 may work for you, IH. But your best bet I think will be size 10 considering the narrower width.

  2. In case anyone is looking for any hard-to-find Freewheelers items, just want to let you guys know Mirrorball jp did take international order and you can pay with your international credit card.

Just send them an email in simple english and tell them what you what.

Can't beat the Yen exchange rate these days

PS: don't know why their website is currently down though

  3. No offense b_F, no reply all along 'cause today is the 1st time in my life I've ever checked my inbox in  sufu after seeing your last post

Too many jeans I want to try with my limited jean budget & jean-time that I think I should let this go.

Really hope there'd be enough interest from you guys to keep this small brand alive. Writing a thousand words' essay by the shop owner just to sell a few jeans on Yahoo auction  tell me it's not just money he's after, it's probably more about his ?unfulfilled denim dream)

  4. Great!  b_F, must have guessed its you who will pick this up and let it occupy a slot in your already crowded jean-breakin schedule :D

I remembered the seller on Yahoo auction jp said it's one-washed and thus no more shrinkage should be expected though picture of those jeans didn't look much like "one-washed" we used to see. Probably, he meant "sanforized" and something got lost via Google translation.

Looking forward to your fit photo in December :)

  5. Don't know why it didn't get much love here in sufu :huh2:

Fading samples of those RARE R008 found on the web did look amazing though

  6. You're welcome. So much fun searching  info on obscure jeans brands from Japan and there're zillions of them ;)

I think I found the shop" JOB", pretty small from the look of it. It's located deep inside Shonai WEST shopping street(庄内WEST[庄内本通商店街]) in Toyonaka city, Osaka

    http://www.shounaiwest.com/shops/33/33.htm

Google translation of the shop's description from Shonai WEST shopping street's website

    "Introduction of our original jeans

    Part 1

    Vintage jeans of Shin's Craft
    9801BXX button fly
    9803ZXX zip up

I made in the three-year plan to seek the highest quality.
    Now on Sale!!

    Part 2

To our shop if Hanshin Tigers fan!
Let's go to cheer wearing jeans Tigers! !

When I did a Google's Picture search on 9801BXX, tons of photos of this

    satoru234-img600x480-1370244993iwjbzy768

A very popular NEC's PC running DOS/V in Japan back then. They must have just name the jeans after it.

Just found the Yahoo Auction jp links selling Shin's Craft again.

    http://openuser.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/user/orihuzak1963?alocale=0jp&mode=2&apg=1

Apparently the Seller is the brand/"JOB" shop's owner.

    Very lengthly description of the jeans in Japanese but can't get much from Google's translation :angry: , except that ;

    9801BXX, button fly, 1955 replica

    9803ZXX, zip fly(TALON), 1954 replica

    Denim made in Okayama

Seller seems to have full confidence on the jeans quality and compared it to the best Japan replica's brand at that time.."garment factory specify the plant , which produces around a VINTAGE one of the best in Japan ."

The above "JOB" store is the only one that remains, the other 3 has long been closed. The shop didn't have much capital investment in recent years and has only few staff....

    Interesting....not particularly cheap though

  7. I remembered I've seen someone selling this Shin's Craft jeans on Yahoo Auction jp in the last 1-2months and he seemed to  have quite a number of unwashed deadstocks of different sizes.(can't find the link now though :( )

I just looked it up on 33oz and  someone had shed some light on it's origin(of course, I don't know how much truth in it)

    http://bbs.33oz.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=61628&highlight=shin%2Bcraft

"...Shin's Craft was made by a Japanese jean shop called JOB BLUE. The shop had been selling DENIME since it's start in 1988(good relationship with DENIME??) At the 10th anniversary of DENIME (1997), with DENIME's consent, the shop made their own jeans and named it after DENIME's company name, SHIN at that time.....made with 15oz denim which feel almost identical to the Denime's XX denim, workmanship more or less equivalent and in fact the hardware seems even better (all SCOVIL), deer's skin patch, standard straight cut..."

From those few in 33oz who have bought the Shin's Craft, comments are all favorable and someone who happened to have Denime XX as well, said the denim felt and looks almost identical, slightly shorter rise for the SC though

    Hope it helps

  8. True...probably has something to do with who is willing to pay for the space

7 whole pages devoted to relative newbies The Strike Gold with 2 pages filled with interior shots of their headquarter, Klax-On........

Anyway, I really love how all those lesser known brands got covered.

  9. Sorry to revive this old thread.

Just want to let you guy know the latest Denim "Bible" from Daytona BROS is out - "Denim Perfect Book"

(According to Amazon.jp, they are supposed to be released on 13th Sep in Japan. But somehow they're available today in Hong Kong)

After a quick gimpse of the book, I'd say it's definitely a must-have for every denimhead(180 pages 980Yen...if you're in Japan  ). Tons of Jeans photos (more photos than any Bibles from Lightning & pages dedicated to lesser known brands like Full Nelson, Oni, GoWest, The Steam Locomotive....But wait! where is Warehouse & Sugar Cane???

  10. No expert here.. but I thought how much the leg twist after the first wash/soak varies with different denim and how hard the shop/brand prepare their one-washed jean. I've an one-washed jean with outseam well past the midline of my leg when I first put it on(...the inseam sit right in the middle of the comb :o )

What The Real McCoy guide suggests is more or less in line with what Hayashi-San(old Denime/now Resolute Head) taught

JUN MATSUMOTO(member of a popular JPop boy group) how to prepare a raw denim on a TV show in Japan....He even advised against turning the denim inside out in the first wash. He loves those wrinkle/crease/fading from the spinning cycle of the washing machine

    Thanks you for watching

  12. Mine was bought last year, also from 2nd thr Rakuten. The serial no. was AD12T. Yours is AD13T, probably new 2013 stock.

AD12T is still available from 2nd and there is a size chart here

    http://global.rakuten.com/en/store/2nd/item/dw-ad12t-id/#googtrans/ja/en

    AD13T

    http://global.rakuten.com/en/store/2nd/item/dw-ad13t-id/

BTW the T seems to be loopwheeled as they are said to be made with æ—§å¼åŠç¹”æ©Ÿ(?loopwheel machine)

  13. That's not bad at all, I ordered two shirts (dark indigo and grape colors) so it shouldn't be bad at all.

I've also got my eye on that boat neck LS shirt if the fit works out well on the first order.

I found a cool looking shirt from Deluxeware but I'm not sure if it's loopwheeled or not.  Really digging the color: http://global.rakuten.com/en/store/2nd/item/dw-ad13t-id/

Broark, got that  indigo-dyed T from Dalee's(?sub-brand of Deluxeware)

no idea if it's loopwheeled or not but should I care?

In terms of the print(if there is any) and texture, Deluxeware T-shirt never disappoints B)

~20 days of wear and x20 soaks
