  1. Howdy: Anyone looking a pair of lightly worn 301-S size 29's? I think I sized down one too many, and they're just not workin' out for me. Can send pictures & measurements upon request, but they've seen no more than 40-50 wears, and have been hemmed down to ~32".

  2. Question:

Bought a pair of Iron Heart 301-S size 29 a bit ago, and I intentionally sized down as I like my jeans pretty skinny (I was looking to go slim after the se05bsp's, which I love but I was ready for something skinnier) and the sales rep who I was talking to said that the jeans would start to stretch out to ~31", which is about my waist size. Thus far at about 30-40 wears I haven't experienced much of that stretch, and I'm wondering if they typically take a bit longer than normal due to their weight, or if I should cut my losses, sell them and go for a different size/pair? For reference, I wear a 32 in the FHxSE05BSP, and they fit me a tad loosely at this point.

    Thanks!

  3. Here's an update on my 3009s, which will be hitting the four-month mark of real wear time this week.  They're not dirty or smelly, but I think it's probably about time to wash them - maybe next weekend.  Colors are pretty much true to life, I took them in the shade on Sunday afternoon.

Per the company's request, I edited out the Japan-only arcs (even though, you know, anyone can see them on the TFH homepage, Rakuten, etc...)

These jeans are just starting to really come to life.  I think after a wash the color and vertical fading will really develop.

Amazing. I've got the SE05BSP's and if I'm not mistaken they use the same fabric? In any event mine are in a very similar place to yours at the moment even if the fabric is different - really great vertical fading going on. Awesome! And definitely update post-wash...

  4. Well - here you are Max Power! A veritable lurker, non-contest member. I've been following along and turning things green for some time, mostly because I got my SE05BSP's a few months before the contest (obviously didn't know it was happening) and couldn't afford to drop more money on a new pair so soon. But I'm firmly in the camp of "holy shit those ByBeatle jeans must be my next pair," and watching them fade along has been really awesome so far. Keep keepin' on!

  5. @Cold Summer

The rear pockets are my favorite detail on these jeans. The indigo felt is supper soft and flexible, and the R.J.B red stitched Jolly Rodger all adds to the "better-than-sex" attitude I have towards these jeans at the moment. The denim is so rich, a deep, crisp indigo with beautiful contrast stitching,. The button fly on these is also super functional since the rise is of rouged proportions.

Sorry guys, I am just so F'in stoked on these things. Just been running my hand through them, smelling them and just generally fetishizing them since they came in today....but it's ok I don't have a problem I can stop whenever I want, I just ...er don't want to.

These look fantastic. IF you don't mind me asking, where'd you pick them up? Can't seem to find them online, or maybe I haven't looked hard enough yet...

  6. hey there, initial run and I have very clear intentions of getting you into a pair 6 months from now.. B)

Sweet. Count me in on the six months from now business. I really wish I had known about this competition about 3 months earlier when I dropped some serious dough for my latest pair. But by six months from now they'll be ready to be rotated, and these here are about as attractive as it gets. You nailed it man. Can't wait to try and get my hands on them.

  7. i got a 31 in the 555-02, whereas my 301s are a 30. i'm not sure if that'd be the same for other folk, but my 301s had stretched in the waist to 32ish so got the 555-02 in something similar knowing i could stretch it back out after it soaked & shrank.

the two denims are very different though. the 21oz is quite a dark & smooth denim, whereas the 18oz raw has an inkier indigo look to it, & has more overall character to it - more texture. neither is better than the other, they're just different - but both awesome.

Sorry for the delayed question, but re: sizing: on the 555, how much stretch is there? I'm looking at going with the unsanforized 18oz, and right now I'm wearing a size 32 of the SE05BSP, which is also unsanforized. Thinking of going for the 31 in the 555 - I guess my question is, does it stretch back out to the measured size, or does it stretch beyond what they have measured on the site?

  8. And seriously, guys, I wish I could give you all the details about the first edition of bybeatle made in Japan - but it will be so much better to post a full editorial once the final product is delivered to the UK...the denim is being milled right now , that´s what m

akes it so super special....it will be worth the wait

Will these be slimmer than the Busters, out of curiosity? Everything about them so far seems super enticing.

  9. And more news - for all of those denim heads out there who have not committed their legs just yet...

Watch this spot - something huge is about to happen - if you are interested in a

tapered slim fit - and 17oz raw Japanese Selvage line denim made in Okayama

sounds like what you´ve been waiting for - be patient....

Damn you all! Just how slim tapered are we talking...Between this and the cap I might just have to say fuck my fairly recent purchase and do this competition! urgh. Details. Want.

  10. I'm a really big fan of the ISC fabric in general, though be warned that it does crock a good bit so will leave indigo on what you wear underneath it for a while at least. My guess is the 3x1 weave of denim will mean it stretches and forms to your body a bit better than the 1x1 weave of canvas (however the canvas certainly will stretch/mold a bit too). For reference, the fabric is the same (maybe a different weight) as that used in the Left Field indigo canvas chinos, that the cats of the "Out in Left Field" contest wore for a year... and it's ended up gorgeous:

So small it is then. The OiLF canvas does look gorgeous. Do you think the kaihara denim jacket would crock less than the ISC canvas? Just concerned for what I'd wear underneath!

  11. was looking at the size charts for the 301s..

    pretty similar to 555-1

    Another batch coming in soon

Yeah I saw that too. What's the differences, if any, between the two? I guess the 301S has a slightly slimmer thigh, but is the 21oz denim the same?

  12. I'm a fan of skinny/slim raw denim, and I just found out Iron Heart made the 555-01 in some pretty thick 21oz. Pretty appealing (understatement? perhaps...). I'm wondering if this is a one-off, or if this is going to be around for some time? In otherwords, should I grab a pair and hoard until I'm ready to rotate with my current pair, or hang on because there will be plenty to go 'round?

  13. We're going to be carrying two of their new cuts starting March 1st, we're going to start with the indigo versions and the black denim ones will follow within a few weeks.

As someone who's into slim/skinny jeans, this is amazing news. I've always wanted to try Imperial, and March might just be my time! Are there any further details on those new cuts/denim other than what's linked to?

  14. Wow. Looking through this thread is really making me wish I weren't breaking in a new pair as I type this. Personally, I'm a fan of skinnier/skinny jeans, so I dig the original cut, and even stuff a tiny bit skinnier! If that becomes available in 6-8 months I might have to consider it...

  15. Seems to be identical the first Wakefield Hotel run, though that's not been 100% confirmed.

When I asked Ande himself about it, he said the following:

"The SR3 denim will be slightly more durable than the regular line denim, it's heavier and has quite a tight weave."

Good to know. Miiiiiight consider picking up a pair myself. They seem really nice, and I'm partial to really skinny jeans, so I guess the Caribou is for me. I still haven't found a pair of raws that are as skinny as I would like, and I've heard that Ande's Caribous are some of the skinniest out there, made by a great guy independently. So what's not to like?

  16. I have the SE05BSP's and I can confirm that they have stretched back out to the perfect fit post-wash. I didn't realize they were made with the 1XXX; was under the impression they were 3XXX, but I could be mistaken. So far, loving these jeans!
