  1. Edwin did a nice cut called the Ed-49. That I believe fits in this category. It has now been discontinued seemingly due to lack of sales, according to an Edwin employee.Still available in limited sizes at Oi Polloi and over in Stockholm and Weil am Rhein.Quite a tapered look due to 7.5 leg opening.Fit me perfectly with enough room to be comfortable without being an anti-fit.The. 16/11.5 Rise combination is my ideal and yet so elusive these days.

13.7 oz raw Japanese rainbow selvage

    W 31 (actual 33)

    FR 11.5

    BR 16

    Th 12

    Kn 8.5

    LO 7.5

  2. Seems there is little interest? The Lucky #17 or 2000 Vintage are some of the best fitting jeans i ever owned,I was expecting something great from these guys.I have to agree that the name stinks. When they created Lucky they had a gimmick and were riding on the coat tails of Replay as far as image and marketing went.

Unfortunately Civilianair does nothing to excite or inspire, which is surprising considering the experience and history of these guys.

  3. Overworks 60's..

    Tag size 30 (I'm a 32 waist) they measured 35" raw

Shrinkage is about 6% for waist and inseam

    Waist: 17.5 / 16.5

    Inseam: 34 / 32

    Front rise: 12 / 11.5

    Thigh: 12.75 / 12.5

    Knee: 8.5 / 8.25

    Hem: 7.75 / 7.5

I am about the same size as you . Does anyone have the measurement (Inc frnt/back rise ) for the 40's and 50's models.

This 60's cut seems very much like the ltd ed. that OiPoloi put out with cone mills denim and green line?

I need something wider at the hem. Thanks

  4. I just replaced some Nashvilles to my stash.I don't know if I had the wrong size previously or if the ones I had were just not washed and I did not give them a chance, but the ones I am wearing now are probably the best fitting jeans overall that I have had to date.I am a true 33 waist and I got a 30 raw.I wore them for a few days raw and never needed a belt.I decided to give them a very hot wash and tumble dry before do anything about the length. They came out perfect, with no need to shorten any ?Jeans and fit are a very personal thing. If you hit on the right one early,be gratefull. This has been an expensive journey! Having said that, what ever I have had from Edwin has been better value for money than anything else I've seen at twice the price.I have yet to try a pr of Roys though?

  5. Decided to sell my Fullcount Dry 1101 32 x 34 I need the extra inch in the back rise and will fund some McCoys

These were purchased on 4/5/13 and have been worn a couple of time around the house .$225 shipped if anyone here is interested?

    As stated earlier

    Post wash measurements

    Front rise 11.25

    Back Rise 15

    Thigh 12.5

    Waist 32.5

    Knee 8.75

    Inside leg 33.25

    Leg Opening 8

  6. back rise is about 16"

    So that's post soak ?:

    Back Rise 16

    Front Rise 11.25

Just got the 1101 and would prefer the extra inch in the back of the 105's if that is indeed correct?

IIRC that is not the case in BIG stated measurements.

  7. Some of you folks might not know this, but John Chapman (Good Wear Leather) has a deal with Real McCoy's where you can pick out what you'd like from their website then email JC and he'll order it for you. I've not done it yet so I don't know anymore details but the Good Wear team is about as nice and helpful as it gets, so might be worth a try if that certain item is calling you.

Just tried this on the strength of your comments to order some jeans and here was the response:

Thanks so much for your email. While we would love to help you, we have found over the past couple years that for our transactions with The Real McCoys, the shipping/customs/processing fees are quite expensive, and it would be best for you to work directly with them for a purchase. Real McCoys will only ship the item via FedEx and will only ship directly to us, at which point we then ship it out to you. In addition, we cannot guarantee sizing and are unable to take returns on these items.

Our best suggestion would be for you to contact them directly, and see if they can be of help with both sizing and to give you a quote on shipping directly to you. Here's their contact email: [email protected]

I'm sorry we can't be of more help.

    All the best,

    Vickie @ GW

  8. Got a pr of Dry 1101 from AND-Japan.Have had three very hot washes and tumble dry on High .Never took pre wash measurements as I used BIG size guide to purchase.Very happy with the fit as long as the stretch out is not too much.I think I could have even got down to a 31 waist as I hear these do stretch a lot.I wear Edwins ( 30 waist ) normally and prefer the Edwin 14.25 oz denim weight of the Ed 39.I also prefer the Top Block of the Ed 49 as it has a longer back and front rise, but loses out on the narrow leg opening and selvage.I wish Edwin would blend the two styles.Anyhow, still in pursuit of perfection?Maybe i'll look at some Lot 002 McCoys next? For the record:

    Fullcount Dry 1101 32 x 34 Post wash measurements

    Front rise 11.25

    Back Rise 15

    Waist 32.5

    Knee 8.75

    Inside leg 33.25

    Leg Opening 8

  9. Gonna have to wait on the fit pics. But I have measurements. Quoise1203, this is the cut if you like the Roy's my man. The 15.5oz xx denim does shrink quite a bit more than I expected it to. But I hot washed in a machine to try to get as much shrink out as possible. I ill probably do one more n a week or two to get the rest out.

    Pre soak: Tagged size 32

    Waist 34"

    Front Rise 12"

    Thigh 13.5"

    Leg Opening 9"

    Post soak:

Waist about 33". Im not really concerned about this measurement as Full Counts stretch like mad

    Front rise 11.25"

    Thigh 12.5"

    Leg Opening about 8.5"

All in all, the denim feels great. Typical Full Count texture, with a bit more visible slub than the 13.7 oz

Ill try to get some fit pics up this weekend, but we are in the middle of a move and my wife is sick.

Would you mind checking the back rise measurement please?

  10. here's some pics of the fullcounts i got for £20 , there lot 0105sfs

    Picture242.jpg

    Picture241.jpg

    Picture240.jpg

you can just about see where i removed the paint on the left thigh, well chuffed especially for what i paid for them

How were you able to remove the paint so well?

  11. I was looking to see if there is a thread on the Evil ? Are we talking about the jeans made by The Big E Jeans Company from England?I just picked up a pr from Woodhouse to try out.I see they are also carried/discounted by Cultism and Stuart's of London.I wanted to post my comments and thoughts about these jeans and wondered what Original jeans they are styled on,if any?

Mine are made in Morocco, and designed in Spain. From reading around the net I believe the the guy behind these is behind other brands ( Hobo,DNA) that I have never heard of.The company spiel is that prior to developing Big E he was involved with Paul Smith in some capacity

Though I like the fit ,I have a few points that niggle me about these so far.I am new here,so feel free to point me in the right direction.thanks

  12. Update- have just checked another drawer and found the following:

a pair of EVIL jeans- raw. 1930's cut. Like these (not my pic)...http://www.outerlimitz.net/communities/8/004/009/954/598/images/4578265995_525x349.jpg

I think these were the ones that encouraged Levis to get injunctions taken out. Made by a British guy over in LA

  13. I would recommend the ED-39 14oz.They do come in a lighter weight, but I would go with the heavier. It is a Japanese rigid stiff denim that I truly love.I have the 39,49 35,Waynesvilles and Nashvilles that I got rid of.My Waynesvilles are tagged 29 Waist.

my 39's are tagged 30 waist and have stretched out to 33.5".

It really is a crapshoot.I have used Oi Polloi and Stuart's of London with great success and good prices.Stuarts seems to carry the odd sizes which is a great Plus.

edwin are a great brand and if you are Lucy you may find the perfect fit In a fabric you like also! I love the Ed39 14oz denim but prefer the Ed35 fit.It is amazing how an extra half inch in the front or back rise can really change the feel of the jeans.

Well ive been having a hard time finding measurements for Edwin denim. My past purchases compared to what the Edwin website has posted, the measurements were completely different.

I know they arent as good as SDA or FH or the likes but, I've gone through so many brands and cuts and have yet to find a pair of denim that I am satisfied with the cut, except a pair of 3Sixteen+ 21BSP. The only thing is, SelfEdge doesnt take returns and with Edwin being sanforized, I can try them on and return them if need be.

Which Edwin cuts are japanese made? And where can I get some online? I know the zen line is but, they are waaayy too slim for me. I need something along the lines of..

    31W

    14.5-15.5 BR

    11-11.5 FR

    11-12 Thigh

    8.75-9 Knee

    8-8.3 Hem

  14. Considering a pr of Ankara 16 oz .I've seen the following measurements a for a 31 waist at Woodlands / Unionmade respectively :

    Frnt Rise:11"

    Back Rise:15.5

    Frnt Rise:12 .75"

    Back Rise:17.75

Considerable differences IMO.Maybe they each use different measuring methods?

I am looking for a High Rise relaxed fit and these are a consideration along with SDA 101 or Roy's 04Any other suggestions appreciated

Tellason site is of little use for detailed size info.I just emailed them.

Any input /1st hand experience would be appreciated.Believe it or not ,the best fit i've found to date is a pair of old (pre Liz Claiborne) Lucky 2000 -17 Vintage Fit ! Anyone know what they were based on?
