  1. @markr04.  Friendly advice - STOP trying to argue with some of the most experience and knowledgeable forum members.

Fine. Double 0 Soul has taken personal shots at me regarding my reading ability, that I shouldn't be on this forum, etc. and I stopped responding to it.

I took responsibility in my second post on this whole matter, saying that I didn't initially see the request for Beautiful Freak's picture of his denim collection.

Beautiful Freak himself replied and I thanked him for it, and thanked him again for his Samurai guide.

You gave me negative rep, so I'm a little suspicious about this being "friendly" advice in the first place. And now you're jumping into it verbally.

Of all the people who you'd think would be offended, didn't even hint that he was. It sure seems like some people want some drama, so they're blowing something up beyond reality to get it. It's a shame that it's in a thread on a denim forum instead of Mac vs. PC, PS4 vs Xbox One, or wherever you'd normally see this kind of dramatic, knee-jerk reaction.

I'm apologizing to the one person who deserves it: Beautiful Freak. I'm sorry if my wording offended you. I didn't mean for it to or I wouldn't be defending my place here.

The rest of this is beyond me.

  2. This question was addressed to me so i answered it, is that ok with you?

Unbelievable. No questions were asked of you. If you had just minded your own business in the first place, you wouldn't... I mean, I wouldn't... sigh. I give up, man.

  3. And of course I do like to talk about denim and jeans. If not there won't be a reason for me or others to be here if we wouldn't talk about it. I rather like to see some one talking and displaying his stuff without being asked for it, then the zillions of sizing questions of new/newish members. And then you never see or hear anything from them after they got their advice.

Again, I thank you for your Samurai guide. I don't know if I could really wear 15 pairs of jeans in my adult life, maybe you have even more. Despite how my question was initially "interpreted", thanks for replying.

  4. I didn't make anything up. I don't have an issue with someone. Those are facts. You're overreacting, which is my opinion. The man's got 6,755 posts here. Don't you figure he can field my question or decide to ignore it without your help?

I'm not getting into, or furthering, an e-argument with you on a denim forum.

  5. Hold up, coleslaw asked for pictures of the denim rack and b_F happily obliged. Why are you trying to create a problem where no problem existed before?

Okay, fair enough. I didn't see the request for the pic. However, I'm not trying to create a problem. It's okay to be curious sometimes. If he wants to reply, fine. If not, no problem there either. It's not as if I threatened him, called him names, cussed him out, etc. There is no need to jump to defensiveness and accusations.

  6. I'm sure you saw that pic before but here you go ;)

Kudos to you for your Samurai fit guide. But damn, I count 15 hangars there. I'm curious about what your point is in having all of that. I mean, you've been reposting these pics and/or enumerating your jeans in other threads for a while. Besides displaying and talking about it, is there a point? Maybe this denim thing has finally gone over my head.

  7. Hi guys, recently got a pair of Petit Standards. As brand new, I can button it up completely, but it's tight to the point where I have trouble bending over or walking up stairs haha. I read somewhere on this thread way back that for a good fit you should be able to button everything except the top button, given the stretch. But if I can already do all of them, is that a bad sign? I am not really going for a skin-tight fit though. Thanks in advance for any input!

Sounds to me like you've got the right size. Even though you are able to button all the way, it sounds like just barely. If you went down a size, they may not fit at all. At worst, you'll wear a belt at some point and ain't nothing wrong with a nice belt.

  8. I ordered one of the chambray workshirts from urban outfitters and was a little disappointed. The construction and material is great, but the actual fit of the shirt is pretty terrible for my build. The sleeves are so long and baggy they cause my shoulders to puff out, yet I can feel the arm holes digging in to my armpits. I'm pretty sure I'm going to return it, But here's some fit pictures:

Another minor issue is the selvedge, which doesn't run up the placket as I expected but instead is only present in that small triangle by the gusset. Also, the Chain-stitch run off is twice as long on one side as it is on the other.

Mine is tighter in the chest than I would like, also. I gave my size Medium to a friend and ordered a Large. I've got a little more room in the chest, but at the expense of longer sleeves. I'm broad-shouldered and thus somewhat broad-chested even though I'm not a mulscle guy. Still a damn fine shirt for the price. I'm happy to own it.

  9. Hey guys, new member here. I am very interested in buying the glow in the dark skinny guys... but have never owned N&F jeans. I typically wear a size 30 jean that will measure anywhere from 15.75-16.5 across the waist depending on fit and material. I asked a seller on ebay to measure a 31 for me and they said a tad under 15.5 inches across the waist flat.

Do any of you own these jeans that could give me a better idea of what size I should order? I never have bought a 32 but it's looking like I might have to... I want to account for stretch over time but also dont want to be in pain wearing them.

    Thanks!

I have them. I wear a 32 in most jeans and the 32 in these fits me fine. BUT(!!!)... the glow jeans are basically a failure. They're stretchy, non-selvedge "denim" and the glow is just pathetic (it only lasts for a few seconds). I wish I had not purchased them, even for $99.

  10. I think I'm gonna get the glow in the dark skinny guys. Karma loop has a great sale.

    I just got a pair.

Note: They are no longer selvedge. They are a stretchy denim. The glow lasts for a few seconds, not as advertised. I work some as a DJ in nightclubs and they look great under blacklights. But a few seconds after I walk away from the light, they are no longer glowing.

  11. Honestly, I fail at the fades. I wear jeans to work, but I work in the music biz, either sitting at studio desks or standing in DJ booths. I live in a townhome, so there's no yard work to do. The thrashing I give my jeans is a so-so wallet fade and some front pocket fading. Nothing interesting.

With therapy sessions, I've come to accept the fact that I'll never win a denim competition.

Maybe there's a little glimmer of hope in each pair I buy that I'll get mad faydez, bro. But really, I keep buying jeans like these because I like the fit, the details, the uniqueness, the weight, the small business, etc.

  12. After I wrote that last night, I washed them and put them in the dryer. I put them on a few minutes ago and they fit great now.

I don't have an issue with Ande. The purchasing experience was perfect. The jeans are perfect. I'd buy from him again, but perhaps a size down.

  13. Mine arrived!

I suspect they're mis-marked, or mis-sized, though. I ordered a 32, which is supposed to be 33", but they came in at 34". I soaked them, which shrunk them to about 33", but they stretched out within two hours to the point that I had to pull them up all day. I have belts, of course, but I dunno if that's really going to solve the overall problem.

I'm not going to bother with fit pics. These might just collect dust in my closet.

  14. mark fit pics when they come in! I'm looking to get the caribous myself

Will do. However, they seem to be in customs for several days now. I own a small audio business and I order electronic components by the thousands from China, Thailand, and other mostly Asian countries. Those have never been held by customs. It's not Ande's fault, I'm just surprised and impatient, lol.

  15. Just ordered the Caribou/Regular fit after researching in this thread. I normally buy slim fits, but Mustang/Slim fit pics in this thread convinced me to go Regular. It seems his fits run on the slim side as it is.

IIRC, I was ready to buy a pair of Ande Whall jeans a year or two ago, but something awful (tsunami? earthquake?) happened to his business and he was out of commission for a while. Either way, I'm glad I found him again.

  16. I think your fit is pretty much spot on. I prefer more masculine fits like that over the ball-cleavage fits. But go with your gut feeling on them. In the end, that's all that matters.

  17. My pair of new 5507 just arrived today ($199 shipped, eBay). They are tagged 31, but really 33". I rinsed them for the initial shrink (I may have them hemmed, 37.5" is looong), which brought them closer to 32". Now I'm wearing them damp to stretch the waist back out, lol.

    I really like them.

I don't know what dooms are, but your sneaks look just fine to me. There are times/places you need to conform, such as workplaces and hypebeast lol, but this is neither. This is a denim forum, not a shoe forum. So rock your dooms.
