  1. & another employee letting some more stuff out of the bag except he said things i wasn't ready to say.  They are all true and so much more to come.

Thats 3 ex employees all saying pretty much the same things

  2. "He also wanted to bring the selvedge idea to Cathy who normally shops at Walmart"

This is trend hypebeast-ism at its finest.

Not to be rude but good riddance.

You do know what i meant by saying that right?  I was pointing out how confused he was/is and never really grabbed a hold of any one thing.  I am not in any way sticking up or trying to make things better for him but instead trying to explain how and why he never had a chance with the custom model at $35

  3. People have the wrong idea of what he intended.  He got this idea of being the Gap of raw selvedge denim somewhere along the line.  He also wanted to bring the selvedge idea to Cathy who normally shops at Walmart for her jeans.  He also wanted to be the denim brand for Cafe Racers and the denim brand for wrestlers and body builders and then also for Electricians and and and but never understood why it couldnt happen without actually sitting down and doing the numbers.  Never once did he stick to one idea and never once did I feel we had an identity so he was stuck selling the idea of Lawless being cheap

CLUELESS but Commendable and cute for trying

As i have said all that led to him screwing people whether it was knowingly or because he just had no clue what $35 in sales compared to $100 in expenses would do in the end.

  4. I really think Lawless had something different in mind than RPM west and i will tell you why.  Roman wanted to bring what Gustin, RPM west and all the other low to mid range brands were bringing BUT at Levi's non selvedge prices.  A nice thought if you had the inner workings and abilities to produce jeans at a rate similar to a factory producing jeans in 15 to 20 minutes.  He didn't have that but he wanted it to a fault.   He had no understanding of his limits.  Thats where the bad business sense came in.  There were fabrics we bought that it could have been done with but even then there needed some tweaking.  Full custom would never work at those prices.  It just took to much work ($$) but maybe RTW could work if you stuck to denims that kept you in the black.  He could have even been in the red a little as long as he was caught up because people would have continued to buy.  Trying to compete with the releases of Gustin or Naked & Famous forces Lawless to go outside its business model.   He did things so fast without ever thinking them through basically

  5. Sometimes the great talker and great business man can compliment each other but unfortunately this sounds like forcing a pipe dream.

His partner in the loom business should run as far as possible.  Im sure he is telling him some ridiculous story as to why LD failed.

If i had the writing skills I could write a screenplay about him.  It would be a mixture of Catch me if you can,  Boiler Room,  Tommy Boy and American Psycho.

  6. What did he do before this where he can even think of funding something like this.

Also people like him need to stay out of the raw denim scene. Go to mass market mall jeans if you have that attitude, but he's clearly doing it for the wrong reasons. If he even has a reason to do it

He was in the Restaurant business as a manager but also had a computer networking company that also set up huge entertainment systems for homes and businesses in AZ .  This 2 did well for a bit but failed because of his lack of customer service knowledge and business sense.

The Lawless thing was actually put together on a large scale in a short amount of time.  He really did accomplish something big with him getting all the machines he sourced.  I would say if he knew what to do next he could have done something quite big.  The other thing was his partnership in the looms.  That was real as well although i do not know if 14 looms were ever going to be fully functional.  His partner in that is someone i know to be successful on his own and also someone i am absolutely shocked would ever partner with Roman.  2 totally different types, 1 is a highly educated guy with business sense and a successful business that sells to major dept stores and the other is a great talker.

  7. I have been saying this a lot lately so I will say it here.  There are 2 issues with LD.  1) Roman is a extremely bad business manager.  Many of the issues are based on him making horrible business choices.  His idea of doing expense reports is adding up things that pop into his mind at that moment.   Incompetence is a great way to describe his abilities.   2) His short comings as a business manager have the same affect on his decisions than that of a desperate addict looking to fund his next drug purchase .  You basically do whatever is needed to get you what you need like begging, stealing and lying.  So if he wasn't so incompetent or he had the ability to accept he was wrong and needed help, he wouldnt have had to make such bad decisions (lying and fluffing the truth) to keep selling to fund his mistakes.

I am not saying he wasn't aware of what he was doing because i believe he was but if you only knew how quick an idea became a reality, u would understand how things got so bad so quick.  I don't have this amazing education in business but i do have common sense to know $35 doesn't cover $100 in expenses.  I also think he is the type that runs from problems.  He did not like talking about any of the issues but instead spun it into you being a cancer and got everyone against you.  He basically tried to keep the truth from coming out by shutting you up with "u are a cancer"

  8. I have some knowledge on a few things and think what they are doing is exactly what they needed to do.  Of course it sucks for those who are waiting but without this move there would be no future.  If they sat back and just completed what was in already they would run out of funds and eventually not be able to continue producing orders.  This will allow them to fund their future and those orders.  Mistakes were made without a doubt so this is the only answer .  I believe most of you know I left Lawless so I dont know exact things anymore but I do know what went wrong and what needed to be done

Trust me this is a good thing even though it seams to suck

  9. Two things happened today , first it was a little chilly so I thought I'd give my new jacket an airing out so decided to wear it , so I'm rideing my bicycle to the park with my two year old on board and while I'm waiting at a railroad crossing a woman walks up to me and complements me on the jacket . At this point I'm having a good day then when I get home I have a package waiting for me , inside the box are the 16.7 oz Cone denim and 14 oz kuroki denim jeans I have been waiting for . The fit is near perfict and to be honest without getting out a fine tooth comb the build quality is near perfict . I'm keen to see how they mould to my body .

Pictures to follow when l get a sunny day .

Thanks again Sal for giving them a bit of a prod with a sharp stick at the factory , and yes the wait was well and truly worth it !

It is so good to hear things worked out for you.  Our turn times are hard to deal with and trust me I know because i order just like everyone else.  I wait as long as anyone with the exception of me getting an occasional item from the sample section.  I have all but 1 ill fitting item (a shirt that came with arms a 2 inches to long)  I ended up giving that to a guy who needed the arm length so it worked out fine.  I think we have many things to fix but our quality and fit are looking good.

     Thanks for posting your experience

    Sal

  10. I do like that jacket a lot .... the combination of heavy denim and good leather can take a beating. Anyway, I would like to see the sleeves longer as well as a longer back ... riding a bike will need these modifications ... errrh sorry, forgot this is a CAFE-RACER ;D

Reading about Lawless and see their peeps actually post here, makes me again confident that I will get an answer to my mail with questions regarding a denim chino I am looking and lusting for ages now.

I am the 6"5 guy from Germany who wants a 40" inseam if possible.

Looking forward to see an answer in my inbox .... keep the fit pics coming.

    overdRAWn aka Thorsten

You ask and we make so yes you can have a 40 length.  We are a full custom capable shop .

  11. Splash received a special version that was done with Horween leather.

I like that, a LOT. I'm a sucker for western style yokes and combined with the cafe racer style this is a winner. Is that denim with leather yoke and piping along the zippers? There's no option for that on the lawless shop that I can find.

I just noticed the new sawtooth and the other two new western styles. Damn. All they need to add now is octagon and/or diamond snap button choices plus 3 button cuffs and I'd be ordering like a madman.

Diamond snaps would send it thru the roof for me as well.  We need to source some more button options for sure.

As for Spash Pitmans jacket, he received the only one we did with Horween leather.  That was kind of a sorry for your pain kinda of thing

  12. I remember when Sal was a newbie on the IH forum - posting nonstop and grinding his pants against anything near him to accelerate his fading.

As time went on, you couldn't ignore he was a good dude. Glad to see him catch on in the industry - hopefully it works out for him.

Grinding , dry humping and yes chatting like the Tasmanian devil lol

    Thanks for the support

  13. But is he actually dirty?

I know what you are asking but i'll take this opportunity to explain why I use "Dirty" in all my handles.  My friends and I have used the word "Dirty" since HS and our later much cooler years ;) We use it as a way to say something is killer, hot, amazing, PH-FAT and siiick.

In a sentence:  That car/girl is DiiiiiRRRRty.  SO its not for dirty as in dirt but a way of saying something is killer lol.

    This is DIRRRTy

  14. Guy, I have gone on record as not being a fan of much of what Lawless and similar brands do, or how they do it, I won't go into my reasons again but they are well documented.

However, what I will tell you is that Sal (DirtyDenim) is a stand up guy and if he can help you then he will. I know Sal and have met him in the real world, he's a good guy and will do everything in his power for you.

Thank you bud.  You forgot to mention how good looking i am .

  15. ^^^^^ I hear what you are saying however this is how I see it , a company is only as good as the people you have working for you yes Laura has dropped the ball with the emails I have sent directly to lawless however it's my understanding that both Laure and Sol represent lawless on the kickstarter site , not that I have been told this but through observations of the updates and earlier griviences being sorted out by Sol , at the end of the day management are to blame and as Roman is the boss and would most likely deli gated that type of menial work down the line I'd say that it falls directly so the sales manager .

No offence to you but I am so not going to join join a denim forum to jeans iv never heard of before last year so I can mail a guy and tell him to reply to questions that I have mailed directly to them already privately and publicly put the same questions on the kickstarter site !

If you have the time go and have a look at the Naked & famous thread from the start , there were a lot of nay sayers and trepidation but never a bad word about communication , if they want to get a good foothold in the market good communication will make or break you , just because you deliver a good product does not guarantee that you will be a return customer if you get fucked around for eight months , I'm sure this company will do well but not with return customers and at the end of the day all pyramid schemes go bust .

I am really sorry you are having such a bad experience with us.  I believe everything you are saying.  We are definitely under staffed and dealing with a lot of orders.  Lets forget that and deal with what you are going thru personally.  Tell me what I can do.  I will push and make it a bit smoother for you.  PM me and I will set you up to communicate with me personally

  16. i took a chance with one of their denim shirts for $40. if i get it, i'll post plenty of pics

I did the same. $40 for semi-custom Western shirt using Cone denim. I'll take a shot.

I am glad you guys both gave us a shot.  Let me know if there are any thoughts you may have or if there is anything you would like to see.  There are a bunch of people who have received their orders already and have posted reviews out there.  Feel free to ask questions if needed.

  17. Whats up Mega,  Lets chat I have a few things I want to ask you. Pm your email when u have time

Aho you are right, name dropping was likely a bad idea but not what I meant it for.  I was trying to explain they are currently using other mills to produce their fabric.  Some people have been asking about the fabric they use for their jeans because of the looms they have.  I also am not meaning to value Lawless with any brands or trying to say buy this instead of that.  Lawless will be an option for someone just like any other brand whether we like it or hate it.  If it were my brand,  Made in America would def be stated not as a tactic but instead as a for your info kind of thing.  Sometimes people take a new denim brands intro to the market as some sort of slight at the brands we love..meaning we do all the " Oh this brand has no shot at being a Samurai" when in fact none of that is being said by Lawless.  Maybe they just want to make jeans & sell them.  I also think a few people did a lil to much pumping of the brand in the wrong places which was their doing not Lawless.

Ok so now that I have seen the Bob Dong offerings especially the wabash tops & bottoms I want some.  Am I seeing right in that they are all under around $50

  18. Just got these in the mail and ripped off my Saturday morning pajamas (666XHS) and threw on these pair of super soft 301s 21oz denim ..Its crazy how these dont feel like they are 21oz denim
