Question:
I've been looking for a new pair of jeans as I'm about to retire my old pair of Uniqlo MIJ's. I wanted to get something much heavier, upwards of 17 ozs but I'm a very small man and I've been having trouble looking for a slim fitting jean that has that heavy denim. I'm not looking for anything extremely skinny like the 301S IH's but I definitely want something that fits like 511s, or my Uniqlos. Maybe a little more tapered. I can fit a 27-29 and I would like the knees to be around 7.75 inches or less and the leg opening to be near 7 inches, preferably less.
From what I've found I think the Momotaro 0705SP are a good fit, and the Samurai s003jp are even better, however neither of them are as thick as I'd like (also, is $385 much for 15oz denim? or do you guys think Samurai's construction and overall quality compensates for it?). The Samurai s003jp-a seem perfect but I'm not sure if they're going to restock those since it's a limited run and only have the size 38s left.
Do you guys think weight is that important? I really like the feel of weight of Ironhearts I've tried but if there's no real benefit to it I might just stick with a medium weight denim. Especially because I'm quite small and light I've found I don't really put a lot of stress on my jeans even when playing basketball or digging holes or whatever.
Lastly I personally prefer a sanforized denim but the fit and weight are far more important to me.
Any suggestions? thanks

quinnskimo, I dont think there are many high quality jeans that have a lot of stretch to them. If I were you I'd get looser fittting jeans. alternatively, you could get some very thick and strong jeans like IH or Sammies but if you get anything slim like a 666 thats also upwards of 18ozs I think you'd be restricting movement and it would not be beneficial to your skating. you could also quit skating. Next time you go to self-edge as kiya what he thinks, or if you're in ny ask anyone at the se there or big?
