Alright, thanks for the suggestions. I think my next pair will be Momotaro 0201s since they seem to have a much larger thigh for me.

It's too bad, I really liked the quality of the red cores.

2 weeks ago I ordered the red core selvedge from Barney's in a 32 where my waist is a 34, based on recommendations here to size down 2. They were so tight on my thighs I couldn't get the waist up, though I'm sure it would have fit.

After sending them back, I ordered a pair of 34. I wore them for an hour yesterday and an hour today, but I can't bend over or lift my knees above a 45 degree angle because they are too tight in the thighs.

Think a size 36 will have large enough thighs for me to comfortably wear after stretching out, or should I just say screw it with the weird guy fit and look elsewhere?
