So my most recent pair of denim was the SG 5109 (90% sure, the other 10% wonders if its 3109) and I really liked the cut. They were slightly looser than the pair I had beforeec - SExI14. The SExI14s fit me absolutely perfectly, but since I can't get that cut anymore the 5109s did an admirable job. However they are getting near the end of their life. Or at least to the point where every few months they have to be repaired. Since I wear them to work I would like another pair to wear while my 5109s are getting repaired. 

 

I am thinking of getting the SG009LTD because my friend is selling a near DS pair for a reasonable price. However the SExSG24-09 look very appealing as well. After hearing some complaints about the fit though I am hesitant. What is everyones opinions on both of those pairs? Do all of the 09 cuts fit pretty much the same?

If not, what brands/cuts would you guys recommend that would fit the closest to the SExi14? For the SExI14 I sized up to 34. For the 5109 though I kept my true size of 33.

So I'm getting ready to get my 4th pair of jeans as my strike golds are getting near the end of their rope. Would like some opinions/advice! 

As you can see, I stay with the slim/tapered cuts. I got the SExI14's in sz 34, they are really slim in the legs but nice up top. They fit pretty well. I then got the Iron Heart 301s in sz 34. The iron heats must have run big or I messed up sizing because the size 34 is too big for me now, so they stay up in my closet.

Most recently I got a pair of 5109.I got them in a size 33 and they fit fantastic. A touch big in the waist - but nothing a belt cant fix. And through the legs the fit it perfect. 

**So I am looking for help deciding my next pair. I am currently between:**

1. Strike Gold 2109
2. Flat Head 3002
3. 3sixteen ST-100x
4. 3Sixteen ST-140x

So based off of the strike gold 5109 size 33 in fit and size -what are some jeans you would reccomend? Do you have any experience with the jeans listed above? If so I'd love to hear (especially if you have owned multiple ones including 3109 so you can compare). Do you have any other jeans you think I may like and would fit the bill?

If you can size down to a 33 in ST-220x you could wear the same size in the 1001 and 3001. Keep an eye on the thigh especially in the 3001 which will be around 11.75" post shrinkage.

That said the SE05BSP or 3002 jeans are a closer fit to the slim tapered ST-220x

 

I think it's safe to say I sized up to a 34 on the SExI14, then sized down on the ST220x's. The sz 33 ST-220x's sit around my waist better without a belt then the sz 34 SExI14's.

 

And yeah I think you are right, the 3002 looks like a much better fit for me.

you'd be a size 34 in the 1109's- just like the Imperials you have (I have these too). I would go with these as well. They have a more interesting fabric than the FH, plus a better fit IMO. The flat heads would have about a .5" larger leg opening - same with the STs. It seems like you have some trouble with sizing so I'd think unsanforized would be better for you. A full size down on the SG's would most likely be too small for you- you're just going to need to do a hotter, longer soak than your imperials with the 34.

 

thanks a lot for the help. the reason i was thinking about a sz 33 is because even though my imperials are a sz 34, i feel like I could have sized down one on them.

 

But you may be right, how would the fit from the 1109/2109 differ from the SExI14 - provided they are both sz 34? (im eyeing a pair of sz 34 2109's and a sz 33 1001 and 3001 on grailed). If I went with the sz 33 1001/3001, if I did a short cold soak do you think they would be find and not stretch too much?

 

Thanks again for the help. Finding the right pair of denim online is really hard to do, no matter how much reading and size measurements you do. Any help you can get is always much appreciated, and people who have owned them before have the best things to say because they have first hand experience.

yeah they look really nice, Im more itnerested in finding a cut that works well. after looking at SE's sizing, the issues I see is in sz 33, the 5109s are .5 slimmer in the thigh, .3 slimmer in the knee. leg opening doesn't bother me, knee doesnt really either - but i ride a bike so i gotta have thigh movement.

 

whats the deal with them? new? soaked? measurements? price?

 

im for sure interested just gotta figure some stuff out.

Worn for a few months, fading is minimal. Lost weight and they don't fit any more.

i too am interested in getting a pair of 1109/2109's. I got a sz 34 like 3 years ago and was reading through my emails and apparently I returned them because they were too big. I imagine im around the same size now.

 

I wear a sz 33 ST 220x, and a sz 34 SExI14 (a tad large around the waist)

 

Im guessing, if I want these I should look for them in a sz 33? And then I can hot/cold soak depending on how much I need them to shrink?

I currently own a pair of

 

ST-220x sz 33 (fits good waist is a hair to big, every 10 min or so i gotta pull them up an inch or they sag, not bad though, if i sized down one size they would not fit as well)

SExI14 sz 34 (one hot soak for 15 min when I first got them nothing since - they are a little big around the waist but good everywhere else, could possibly have sized down one in for the waist but then legs may have been too slim)

 

looking for a compareable pair, deciding between

flat head 3001 33

ST 130x 33

SG 1109

 

can someone give me pros and cons, compare the denims/cuts, make sure sizes look right, etc help me out before I drop some cash?

 

The SG 1109s are enticing because they have a little more thigh room then my st 220xs, but taper a big more through the knee and opening. more fitted look, but better overall fit.

is the 1001 or the 3001 closest to the fit of 3sixteens ST cut? I wear an ST 220x, as well as a pair of SExI14s. I like the fit on both of those and am looking to get something similar. I have a 33 in the ST-220x and a 34 in the SExI14. Both fit well but are slightly too loose around the waist. I could *maybe* go a size down on the ST-220s and could easly go down from a 34 to 33 in the SExI14s. Would 33 be best in the 1001/3001?

 

Also how does flat heads denim compare to the ST-220 and SExI14s?

SExI14 is probably my favorite pair of denim I've ever worn. I went up a size so they are a bit big around the waist, but stay up fine with a belt and they are still a good level of tapered/slim just not skin tight. I'm curious how the new SExI23 fits in comparison? Also, how is the denim in comparison?

 

Secondly, I wear a pair of ST-220x's quite often as well. They fit pretty spot on, if not a hair bigger then I would like. I noticed on the measurements on SE that the 130x/140x have slightly smaller dimensions for the same size. Is that noticeable in the fit? And color aside, how much of a difference is the feel from the denim from the 220x to the 130/140. In your opinion does the brown weft age? I'm stuck between those two and I can't find many evolution pictures.

Where is everybody going for affordable leather belts these days? Im looking to get a new pair of jeans and a belt with my tax returns. I won't have a whole lot to spend, but don't mind dishing a little out for a nice belt that will last a while. I don't like ones that are too wide, I had trouble getting my last one through my loops and that was annoying. So not too thick, or too wide. Any suggestions?

anyone have any information, or better yet - fit pics of the st 130x/140x? I currently have a pair of st 220x sz 33 and they fit pretty spon on, a little extra room in the top but all in all great fit.

 

looking to get a pair of indigos, to supplement with my SExI14s, and im gravitating between the st 100x/130x/140x but i cant find any information really on the latter two.

Ok these probably have 30 wears in them. Got them early march. Love the jeans. Love the quality. Amazing jeans.

But ive come to the conclusion that they are too tight in the thighs. I can't move around as well as id like though.

These dont have any fades yet. Whiskers are barely coming in, and honeycombs are real far off. They were cold soaked once for 20-30 minutes, never washed or soaked after the initial. They were hemmed to a 38.5 by self edge initially.

Looking for 300$ shipped stateside.

im not going to lie, i prefer the denim on the SExI14 more, i <3 the slubbiness of it.

but it doesn't give me enough room in the thighs.

the 301s fit me too perfect.

i do miss a selvedge line though.
